Luther wakes up the Tennessee Valley with the latest information on area events and activities as well as his famous lost and found reports.
He is our very own National Marconi award winner and a well known Chattanooga legend. Luther Masingill has been gracing the WDEF airwaves since 1941!
In his spare time, Luther admires antique cars and is the proud owner of a Model T on display at the Chattanooga Tow Truck and Wrecker Museum.
James Howard
James Howard was born and raised here in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has been with the Sunny 92.3 family since 1993.
After working mid-days and afternoons for several years, James is now Luther’s sidekick in the mornings.
James delivers news, weather, traffic and interesting tidbits keeping you informed and entertained on your drive to work.
Not only does James hit the airwaves via radio, but he's also a licensed pilot. He has shared his love of aviation with listeners over the years by flying a big Sunny 92.3 banner to the children of Russia (To Russia With Love Promotion) and by setting a NAA National Speed Record for TC Thompson Children’s Hospital (Give Your Heart Wings Promotion). His most recent trip was spending the holidays with the Chattanooga Marines of Mike Battery in Fallujah, Iraq.
James lives with his wife Christy and daughters Gracie and Lucy in East Brainerd.

My name is T-Bone and I am a year and a half old Boxer mix. I am very smart girl. I love tennis balls and squeaky toys! I also love food, so it would be easy to train me if you were motivated and consistent. My ideal parent would love to take me on walks and adventures. The McKamey Animal Center is one of forty-six shelters competing in the ASPCA $100K Challenge, which you can help by adopting a pet from McKamey! August adoption fees are $5 for cats, $25 for dogs and $75 for McKamey Minis.

Durham Mine Site Fossil Dig
CNC Naturalist, Kyle Waggener, will conduct a fossil Dig on November 20th from 10 am to 1 pm at Lula Lake Land Trust. This is the best site for fern fossils. Prepayment and Preregistration is required. Call 423-821-1160 ext 0. Admission is $8 CNC members and $4 for member children, $11 non-member adult and $6 non-member children.
