Christian Bale told GQ in a cover story published Wednesday (October 5th) that he served as a "mediator" between director David O. Russell and Amy Adams during filming of the American Hustle in 2012.

He told the outlet, "When you're working with people of the crazy creative talent of Amy or of David, there are gonna be upsets. But they are f***ing phenomenal."

Adams previously told British GQ that the director yelled at her and made her cry almost daily during filming.

He told the outlet, "If I can have some sense of understanding of where it's coming from, then I do tend to attempt to be a mediator. That's just in my nature, to try to say, ‘Hey, come on, let's go and sit down and figure that out. There's gotta be a way of making this all work.'"

Bale had previously worked with Russell on The Fighter and can be seen in his latest movie, Amsterdam.

Jenner and Travis Scott have yet to publicly reveal the name of their child since changing it from Wolf.

On Tuesday (October 4th), Angelina Jolie filed a cross-complaint in the legal battle over a French winery she and Brad Pitt once owned together. The court documents detail abuse allegations against Pitt from the plane incident in 2016 that led to their divorce.

"When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him. To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane's seats injuring Jolie's back and elbow," the filing reads. "The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened."

The documents also claim that Pitt "periodically emerged from the back of the plane to yell and swear at them" over "many tense hours" on the flight, and "at one point, he poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children."

The filing states that Jolie "has gone to great lengths to try to shield their children from reliving the pain Pitt inflicted on the family that day, but when Pitt filed this lawsuit seeking to reassert control over Jolie's financial life and compel her to rejoin her ex-husband as a frozen-out business partner, Pitt forced Jolie to publicly defend herself on these issues for the first time."

Constance Wu broke into tears on Late Night With Seth Myers Monday (October 3rd) while discussing the sexual harassment she experienced on the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat. Wu details the allegations in her new memoir Making a Scene.

The Crazy Rich Asians star shared that she "didn't want to write" about what happened during the first two seasons of the show. "That was the last essay I wrote for the book, and only after being, like, pushed by my editor, like, 'You should write about this. This is what people want to hear.' And I was like, 'I'm done with that chapter in my life,'" she said.

Wu writes in her book that one of the producers on Fresh Off the Boat dictated what she should wear, such as "short skirts," and who she should be friends with, among other accusations. She also claims that he touched her inappropriately at a basketball game.

"I had never done anything big before. I had just graduated from being a waitress. I was scared of being fired," she said. In an interview with Vanity Fair published on Tuesday (October 4th), Emma Thompson commented on filming a nude scene with Jeff Goldblum for the 1989 film The Tall Guy.

"I spent two delightful days nude with Jeff Goldblum when I was in my 20s," she told the publication.

The Love Actually actress continued, "We were both so nervous. We both had indigestion I think for two weeks beforehand. But once we got into it, we just had the best time."

Thompson shared that this positive experience helped her film nude scenes in other movies, such as her latest film Good Luck to You, Leo Grande. In an appeal filed on Monday (October 3rd), disgraced 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar said government agents failed to interview his former coworker, Caleb Williams, in his child pornography case.

According to Duggar, Williams "regularly used the only computer that had child pornography on it, was tech savvy." He also allegedly sent Duggar a text offering to "watch the lot."

The documents show that Williams worked with Duggar at Wholesale Motorcars and is a convicted sex offender. Duggar claims his team tried to call Williams to the stand but that the federal court denied the request.

MEGHAN MARKLE CALLS OUT ‘AUSTIN POWERS' AND ‘KILL BILL' FOR STEREOTYPING ASIAN WOMEN: On the first episode of Meghan Markle's Archetypes podcast since the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Markle called out the hypersexualization of Asian women in movies like Kill Bill and Austin Powers. "Movies like Austin Powers and Kill Bill — they presented these caricatures of women of Asian descent as oversexualized or aggressive," she said. "This toxic stereotyping of women of Asian descent…this doesn't just end once the credits roll." Sociologist Nancy Wang Yuen appeared on the podcast with her and recalled the time a man used a line from Full Metal Jacket on her. "I myself have been propositioned in an airport in Atlanta of all places by a stranger who said, ‘Me so horny,' just yelled it out to me." Yuen explained, "I knew why because I looked around and I thought and I saw that I was the only Asian woman in that area. I knew he was talking to me, even though I don't even know if he'd ever seen Full Metal Jacket."

CASTING IS COMPLETE FOR ‘MEGALOPOLIS:' Deadline reports that Francis Ford Coppola has set his final casting for Megalopolis, which will begin filming this fall in Georgia. Chloe Fineman, Isabelle Kusman, D.B. Sweeney, Bailey Ives, and Dustin Hoffman have all secured roles in the film. They join Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker and Nathalie Emmanuel, among others.

On Monday's (October 3rd) episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg called out a film critic who wrote that she found Goldberg's fat suit "distracting" in the movie Till, which had its world premiere at the New York Film Festival over the weekend. However, Goldberg clarified that she wasn't wearing one.

"I don't really care about how you felt about the movie," the Ghost actress said. "But you should know that was not a fat suit, that was me. That was me. That was steroids. Remember last year? I assume you don't watch the show, or you would know that was not a fat suit." Goldberg was taking steroids at the time of filming to treat her sciatica symptoms.

She added, "It's OK not be a fan of movie, but you want to leave people's looks out. Just comment on the acting. And if you have a question, ask somebody. I'm sure you didn't mean to be demeaning."

Kim Kardashian has agreed to pay $1.26 million to settle Securities and Exchange Commission charges for promoting EthereumMax's crypto asset on Instagram and failing to disclose a payment she received for the promotion.

Gary Gensler, the chairman of the SEC, said on Monday (October 3rd), "This case is a reminder that, when celebrities or influencers endorse investment opportunities, including crypto asset securities, it doesn't mean that those investment products are right for all investors."

A lawyer for Kardashian said in a statement, "Kardashian fully cooperated with the SEC from the very beginning and she remains willing to do whatever she can to assist the SEC in this matter. She wanted to get this matter behind her to avoid a protracted dispute. The agreement she reached with the SEC allows her to do that so that she can move forward with her many different business pursuits."

Also on Monday (October 3rd), Kardashian launched a true crime podcast called The System on Spotify, according to Today. Spotify said in a statement, "Narrated by Kim Kardashian, alongside veteran true crime producer Lori Rothschild Ansaldi, ‘The System' dives into the story of Kevin Keith, a man convicted of triple homicide who, for nearly three decades, has been working alongside his family to prove he was wrongly accused."

She Hulk actress Jameela Jamil is speaking out against the recent decision to choose controversial designer Karl Lagerfeld for the theme of the 2023 Met Gala. Vogue announced news of the theme last week.

"This man... was indeed, supremely talented, but used his platform in such a distinctly hateful way, mostly towards women, so repeatedly and up until the last years of his life, showing no remorse, offering no atonement, no apology, no help to groups he attacked... there was no explanation for his cruel outbursts," Jamil wrote on Instagram Saturday (October 1st).

The Good Place actress continued, "Those groups were women who were sexually assaulted, the entire me too movement, gay couples who wanted to adopt, all fat people, specifically fat women, and some of his greatest harm was against Muslim refugees, and the disgusting way he spoke about people fleeing their homes for fear of their lives."

She noted that saying her piece would "probably end" her relationship with Vogue. Regardless, she pointed out, "Why is THIS who we celebrate when there are so many AMAZING designers out there who aren't bigoted white men? What happened to everyone's principles and ‘advocacy.' You don't get to stand for justice in these areas, and then attend the celebration of someone who reveled in his own public disdain for marginalized people."

SACHEEN LITTLEFEATHER DIES AT 75: Today reports that Sacheen Littlefeather, the actress and activist who denied Marlon Brando's Oscar on his behalf in 1973, died on Sunday (October 2nd) at the age of 75. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences issued a formal apology to Littlefeather in June for the way she was treated by the audience that night. "At that time in 1973, there was a media blackout on Wounded Knee and against the American Indian Movement that was occupying it. Marlon had called them in advance and asked them to watch the Academy Awards, which they did. As they saw me, up on stage, refusing that Academy Award for the stereotypes within the film industry, and mentioning Wounded Knee in South Dakota, it would break the media boycott," she told Variety recently. A documentary about her life and activism titled Sacheen Breaking the Silence was released in 2021. ‘EMANCIPATION' GETS FIRST TRAILER AND RELEASE DATE: Deadline reports that Apple released the first trailer for Emancipation, starring Will Smith, on Monday (October 3rd)—following a screening of the film in Washington D.C. over the weekend. The movie will hit theaters on December 2nd and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ on December 9th.

DREW BARRYMORE SAYS SHE WOULD DO A THIRD ‘CHARLIE'S ANGELS:' On Friday's (September 30th) episode of the Drew's News podcast, Drew Barrymore told Benito Skinner she would absolutely do a Charlie's Angels 3. "I just was watching Lucy, funny enough, who I was texting with this morning. And she was at Comic-Con for the new Shazam movie and they asked her, 'Would you do a Charlie's Angels 3?' And I was on the edge of my seat," Barrymore said. "I would be surprised if any one of us ever decreed that we wouldn't do a third movie … I would. I would in a heartbeat. HBO MAX RESPONDS TO ‘HOUSE OF THE DRAGON' FANS' LIGHTING CRITICISM: According to PopSugar, many people took to Twitter recently to complain about the lighting in episode seven of the first season of House of the Dragon–since it was hard to see what was happening. "$20M an episode and they're lighting the entire set with a single lightbulb. #HouseOfTheDragon #DemDragons," one user wrote. Another chimed in, "To whoever did the lighting in #HouseOfTheDragon ... Whoopi Goldberg spoke with The Hollywood Reporter on Saturday (October 1st) at the world premiere of Till, a film about the brutal murder of Emmett Till in 1955 and his mother Mamie Till-Mobley's subsequent fight for justice. Goldberg is a producer on the film and stars as Emmett's grandmother Alma Carthan.

Goldberg told the outlet that producers were "trying forever" to make the movie, but the movement for racial justice following the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery is what helped them finally secure funding. "People thought we should do some stories about Black people, after all that went on over the last couple of years. I always say, we got popular. We got back in vogue and people started saying maybe we should be doing more, we should be telling these stories and we got in through that and MGM's Orion division said, ‘We should do this.'"

She added, "Yes, thank you. Because we've been trying forever, just forever, to get it done. And people say, ‘No, it's an important story and we really feel for it.' And it's like, ‘So you're not going to give us any money for this?'"

Despite Blonde topping the charts after being released on Netflix last week, a lot of people are upset about the Marilyn Monroe biopic, according to Variety. This includes Gone Girl actress Emily Ratajkowski, who called out the film on TikTok for "fetishizing female pain."

Ratajkowski isn't alone in her opinion. New York Times film critic Manohla Dargis wrote that it's a relief the Hollywood icon "didn't have to suffer through the vulgarities of 'Blonde,' the latest necrophiliac entertainment to exploit her." Another film critic for The Los Angeles Times, Justin Chang, wrote, "#Blonde isn't really about Marilyn Monroe. It's about making her suffer."

For Ratajkowski's part, she said that she hasn't watched the film yet, but she's "pissed off." Mentioning Amy Winehouse, Britney Spears, and Princess Diana as examples, Ratajkowski said, "I'm not surprised to hear that it's yet another movie fetishizing female pain, even in death … We love to fetishize female pain … We obsess over dead girls and serial killers."

The iCarly actress added that she wants this to change. "So I have a proposal. I think we all need to be a little more pissed off. 2022, baby, is my bitch era. I think we should all be in our bitch era," she said.

Suicide Squad director James Gunn and Black Adam actress Jennifer Holland have tied the knot! The pair announced the news on Instagram Friday (September 30th).
