On Monday's (April 11th) episode of the Today show, Molly Shannon and Carson Daly each shared what it was like to lose a parent as a child. In her new memoir, Hello Molly!, Shannon details the loss of her mother in a car accident when she was just four years old.

As Daly interviewed Shannon, he shared that he also lost his father when he was only five years old to bladder cancer. "My whole adult life I've tried to figure out what impact did that have on my life now, my mental health and everything else," he said. Then he asked Shannon how she came to a place of gratitude, as he read in her book.

Shannon was emotional when she responded, "That part makes me a little sad, but I think when you lose a parent when you're so young, you have such a sense of how precious life is, and a kind of urgency. I think that makes me appreciative of people being alive, and time with people, and just appreciating the time on earth we do have with people."

MICHAEL KAY TEASES ALEX RODRIGUEZ ABOUT JLO'S ENGAGEMENT DURING YANKEES GAME BROADCAST: TMZ reports that during a "KayRod" broadcast of the Yankees vs. Red Sox game Sunday (April 10th), Michael Kay joked with Alex Rodriguez about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's engagement. In the 9th inning, Kay said, "It's a great time in sports. You have a new Masters champion, NBA playoffs are about to start, baseball's in full swing, people getting engaged. I mean, it's a happy time in the world." Rodriguez responded with a laugh, "Happiness and world peace is what we're looking for."

KYLIE JENNER AND TRAVIS SCOTT STILL HAVEN'T NAMED THEIR SON: According to Entertainment Tonight, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott still haven't found a name for their baby boy, who they welcomed to the world in February. At The Kardashians premiere, Jenner told the outlet, "Wolf was never on our list. It just was something Khloe suggested." Khloe Kardashian joked in response, "Don't do this to me." Jenner added, "We have some strong options, but we haven't officially changed it. Before I officially changed it I want to make sure."

CALAM LYNCH BEGGED BRIDGERTON PRODUCERS FOR SHIRTLESS SCENES: Calam Lynch told Page Six recently that he tried his best for Theo, his Bridgerton character, to have shirtless scenes. "I was pestering executive producers Tom Verica and Chris Van Dusen and everyone on set being like, ‘What do you think? Maybe Theo's topless in this scene? Maybe he's doing the printing but he's topless.'" He added, "I work out anyway, so I was like, ‘Finally, there's a reason. I can show the world!'" Alas, he did not succeed.

TIA BOOTH GETS ENGAGED TO TAYLOR MOCK DURING BACHELOR LIVE EVENT: Page Six reports that, during a Bachelor Live on Stage event in Atlanta Sunday (April 10th), Bachelor in Paradise alum Tia Booth got engaged to her boyfriend, Taylor Mock. On Monday (April 11th), Booth posted to Instagram showing off her engagement ring and writing, "Never been more shocked or sure in my life I love you so much Tay, my FIANCÉ!!!"

CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM WILL RETURN FOR A 12TH SEASON: E! News reports that Curb Your Enthusiasm will be back for another season on HBO. Journalist Rich Eisen wrote on Twitter Sunday (April 10th), "So, I was honored to emcee an Emmys panel for Curb Your Enthusiasm tonight here in LA with most of the cast and asked Larry David the ultimate question: Will there be another season of Curb? He said yes."

BRIE LARSON CAST IN FAST AND FURIOUS 10: According to People, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson is set to join the cast of the 10th installment of Fast and Furious. Larson posted a photo of herself with Vin Diesel to Instagram on Sunday (April 10th), writing, "excited doesn't even begin to explain how I feel about joining the Fast family … thank you for welcoming me in with so much kindness and excitement, @vindiesel. can't wait to share more (when I can)."

CBS PICKS SHERYL CROW AND AMANDA KLOOTS FOR UPCOMING HOLIDAY MOVIES: CBS is preparing for the holiday season. Entertainment Tonight reports that Sheryl Crow will executive produce and write the title song for the film When Christmas Was Young, while Amanda Kloots is set to star in and executive produce Fit for Christmas.

WARNER BROS. AND ABBOTT ELEMENTARY PARTNER WITH FEEDING AMERICA AHEAD OF FINALE: Deadline reports that Warner Bros. Television is planning to donate 150,000 meals to Feeding America for the weeklong "Think Outside The (Lunch) Box" social media campaign, which will overlap with Abbott Elementary's season one finale on April 12th.

The rumors are true! Days after Jennifer Lopez was spotted wearing what looked like an engagement ring, the Marry Me star confirmed that she and Ben Affleck are engaged … For the second time.

Lopez revealed the news through her On the JLo newsletter, showing off her gorgeous green diamond engagement ring. In a previous newsletter, she shared that green is her favorite color.

"I've realized there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing green," she said.

Lopez also posted a video to Twitter on Friday (April 8th), teasing fans with the news of a "major announcement," while adding a diamond ring emoji to her Twitter handle.

This news comes approximately 20 years after the couple's first engagement in 2002. Congratulations Jen and Ben!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has banned Will Smith from attending all Academy events, including the Academy Awards, for 10 years. This comes after the King Richard actor slapped comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.

In a letter addressed to the "family" of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Academy president David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson said, "For a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events."

They also expressed "deep gratitude to Chris Rock for maintaining his composure under extraordinary circumstances."

Smith responded to the decision with a brief statement, saying, "I accept and respect the Academy's decision."

CHRIS ROCK SAYS HE WON'T TALK ABOUT OSCARS SLAP UNTIL HE ‘GETS PAID'

While on his comedy tour Friday (April 8th), Chris Rock addressed his silence on Will Smith slapping him at the 94th annual Academy Awards.

At the Fantasy Springs show in Indio, California, Rock said, "I'm OK, I have a whole show and I'm not talking about that until I get paid."

Us Weekly reports that he added, "Life is good. I got my hearing back."

Days before Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were scheduled to face off in court, Heard posted to Instagram to say her piece.

On Saturday (April 9th), the Aquaman actress wrote, "I'm going to go offline for the next several weeks. As you may know, I'll be in Virginia, where I face my ex-husband Johnny Depp in court. Johnny is suing me for an op-ed I wrote in The Washington Post, in which I recounted my experience of violence and domestic abuse."

She continued, "I never named him, rather I wrote about the price women pay for speaking out against men in power. I continue to pay that price, but hopefully when this case concludes, I can move on and so can Johnny. I have always maintained a love for Johnny and it brings me great pain to have to live out the details of our past life together in front of the world."

Depp's defamation trial begins on Monday (April 11th). James Franco, Ellen Barkin, and Elon Musk are set to testify virtually for Heard, while Paul Bettany will testify virtually for Depp.

Sam Elliott is expressing regret for the comments he made about Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog on Marc Maron's WTF podcast last month.

During Deadline's Contenders TV event on Sunday (April 10th), Elliott said, "I want to apologize to the cast of The Power of the Dog, brilliant actors all … And in particular Benedict Cumberbatch. I can only say that I'm sorry and I am. I am."

He also extended his apologies to the gay community. "I said some things that hurt people and I feel terrible about that. The gay community has been incredible to me my entire career. And I mean my entire career, from before I got started in this town. Friends on every level and every job description up until today. I'm sorry I hurt any of those friends and someone that I loved. And anyone else by the words that I used," he said.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 had quite the … rollout … at the weekend box office. Bringing in $71 million, it performed better than the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Deadline reports that, on a three-day basis, the film is Jim Carrey's biggest domestic opening, beating out Bruce Almighty at $68 million.

In the scene, Thompson tells Kardashian that he's working on regaining her trust. A source told the publication, "She jokingly said, ‘Liar.' People were laughing. She was in an amazing mood and spirits."

KRISTIN CAVALLARI COMMENTS ON TYLER CAMERON ROMANCE RUMORS: After The Hills star Kristin Cavallari and former Bachelorette contestant Tyler Cameron were spotted kissing during an Uncommon James photoshoot, Cavallari spoke out to squash the speculation. KATHRYN HAYS DIES AT 87: According to the NBC News, As the World Turns actress Kathryn Hays passed away on March 25th in Fairfield, Connecticut, at the age of 87. No cause of death was reported by her family. Hays played Kim on As the World Turns for 40 years, and she appeared on other shows such as Star Trek and Law & Order. A statement released by her family says that she was "a consummate artist, she was never happier than when involved in the creative process, whether it was rehearsal, learning lines, cooking for friends, decorating a house or creating a garden. Especially gardens. She created beauty wherever she went."

DANCING WITH THE STARS MOVES TO DISNEY+: According to Entertainment Tonight, Dancing with the Stars is moving to Disney+ after 16 years on ABC. The dancing competition will make its debut on Disney+ this fall, becoming the first live show on the streaming platform.

THE REAL IS CANCELED AFTER EIGHT SEASONS: Variety reports that the talk show The Real has been canceled by Warner Bros. after eight seasons on Fox. The original hosts of the show included Tamera Mowry-Housley, Jeannie Mai, Tamar Braxton, and Loni Love.

THE 2022 KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS WINNERS ARE ANNOUNCED: Deadline reports that a record number of 1,000 slimings occurred at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards this year, held on Saturday (April 9th). The event was hosted by Miranda Cosgrove and Rob Gronkowski, and appearances were made by First Lady Jill Biden, Olivia Rodrigo, Gabrielle Union, Heidi Klum, Terry Crews, and others. Nickelodeon stars Gabrielle Nevaeh Green, Havan Flores, Dana Heath, Terrence Little Gardenhigh, and more were also in attendance.

Jennifer Lopez has been spotted wearing a possible engagement ring.

TMZ reports that J.Lo and her daughter, Emme, were out furniture shopping Monday (April 4th) when photographers caught the singer sporting a diamond on her left ring finger.

According to the outlet, she flipped the ring to hide the rock when she saw there were paparazzi present.

If Lopez is, indeed, engaged to Ben Affleck, this will be the second time. The Tender Bar actor first proposed to Lopez at his mother's home in October 2002 after three months of dating.

Betty White's personal items will be auctioned off in September.

Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills put the Golden Girl's awards, paintings, scripts, jewlery and red carpet outfits on display Tuesday (April 5th).

Martin Nolan, the executive director of Julien's Auctions, told The New York Post, "All these items came from her home in Brentwood or her residence in Carmel in northern California, where she lived with her husband Allen Ludden."

He added that the most personal item is a "14-carat gold watch that was gifted to Betty Dec. 25, 1940 with the initials T.C.W. which, of course, is Tess White, Betty's mom."

Ireland Baldwin doesn't really care that her father is about to have his seventh child with Hilaria Baldwin.

She wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement that she's too focused on her life in Oregon with her boyfriend and their six dogs to bother with Alec Baldwin's offspring.

She wrote, "I get countless messages from people who are kind of alarmingly obsessed with my father and his family. I think a lot of people assume my take on any of this, well here it is for free – it's none of my business."

'THE HOME EDIT' STAR DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER: The Home Edit's Clea Shearer revealed to People Thursday (April 7th) that she has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. The 40-year-old professional organizer and star of Netflix's Get Organized with the Home Edit, says she found the lump in February and within a few weeks learned that she had stage 1 mammary carcinoma. The mother of two will undergo a double mastectomy surgery on Friday (April 8th). She tells People, "I'm a fighter. If anyone can crush cancer, it is me."

MATTHEW BRODERICK AND SJP TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID: Both Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have tested positive for coronavirus. Broderick tested positive prior to Tuesday (April 5th) night's performance of Broadway's Plaza Suite but his wife and costar, Parker, did not test positive until Thursday (April 7th). According to a statement sent to People, the show's Thursday night performance was cancelled and "News about future performances of Plaza suite will be announced as soon as possible. Everyone wishes Matthew and Sarah Jessica a speedy recovery."

KEENAN THOMPSON AND WIFE CALL IT QUITS: Kenan Thompson and Christina Evangeline have decided to call it quits after 11 years of marriage. Sources close to the couple tell TMZ they have been separated for over a year now and are expected to file for divorce soon. The Saturday Night Live star is currently in Los Angeles working on his new show, called Keenan while Evangeline has remained in New York.

JOJO SIWA CUTS OFF PONYTAIL: JoJo Siwa has chopped off her signature ponytail. The 18-year-old dancer is now sporting a pixie cut with buzzed sides. She shared a smiling selfie with her short new do' on Instagram Thursday (April 7th) with the caption, "HAPPPPPY."

TOM HIDDLESTON TO STAR IN APPLE TV+ DRAMA: Tom Hiddleston is set to star in The White Darkness for Apple TV+. Deadline reports that the limited series is based on David Grann's nonfiction book inspired by Henry Worsley, who made an epic journey across Antarctica on foot.

JOHN CENA ACTION-COMEDY SOLD TO AMAZON: Deadline reports that Amazon Studios just purchased the Officer Exchange. The action-comedy project stars John Cena as a cop who teams up with an Indian police officer to take down a diamond smuggling ring in India.

LAURA DERN AND LIAM HEMSWORTH TO STAR IN NETFLIX FILM: Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth are set to star in the film Lonely Planet for Netflix. According to Deadline, the film is being billed as a love story set in Morocco.

DISNEY TAUNTED 'NEWSIES' STARS WITH BAD REVIEWS: Disney's press department was so disappointed when Newsies flopped back in 1992 that they allegedly sent the out the harsh reviews to some of the film's stars. Ele Keats, who played Srah Jacobs in the film told Insider she was sent "all of the horrific reviews for Newsies "in the mail" from "someone from Disney." She added, I think someone in the press department thought maybe I would enjoy reading them. I don't know why.

She wasn't alone. Arvie Lowe Jr, who played Boots, said he too received copies of Newsies reviews in the mail nearly every week. Many of them referred to the movie as being "terrible" and the acting as "subpar."

Kourtney Kardashian shared photos from her Las Vegas wedding to Travis Barker on Wednesday (April 6th) and confirmed that the ceremony wasn't legit.

She wrote on her post, "Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect."

According to reports, this was the first of many celebrations.

Joe Exotic's estranged husband, Dillon Passage, says he is willing to sign off on their divorce as long as the Tiger King agrees to his terms.

His lawyers, Chris Kirker and Holly Davis, tell TMZ that Passage wants both parties to walk away with what they owned coming into the marriage and a permanent injunction preventing Exotic from contacting him directly, stalking or harassing him.

Passage's legal team says these terms were previously offered in September and the Netflix star responded with, "It will be a cold day in hell before I sign these papers … You're out of your f***ing mind."

Caitlyn Jenner revealed to the Full Send podcast that Kim Kardashian recently introduced her to Pete Davidson.

According to Jenner, Kardashian kept laughing at her former step-parent for being overly-formal and calling the Saturday Night Live star "Peter" as a way to be polite.

She says the comedian is a "very nice guy" and that "Kim seemed so happy."

Davidson also recently spent some time with the reality star's kids and was spotted tooling around in an electric car with North West on Sunday (April 3rd).

Mickey Rourke is retiring his skateboard.

The 69-year-old star of the Wrestler posted a selfie on Instagram Tuesday (April 5th) showing a bloody gash on his forehead. The actor wrote in the caption, "Looks like my skateboarding days are over."

It is unclear if he was skateboarding for a film role or for fun at the time of his injury.

According to IMDB, he is cast in three films that are currently shooting: Jade, Replica and Murder at Hollow Creek.

JENNA MALONE CHASES MAN WHO ABUSED DOG: Jenna Malone was shown in a news segment on NBC 4 Los Angeles Tuesday (April 5th) about a group of strangers who chased down and beat up a man who they witnessed physically abusing a small dog. The Hunger Games actress told the outlet, "I pulled over and started chasing him because that's absolutely not okay." Malone did not aid the men who beat up the unidentified abuse who said they were "conducting a citizen's arrest."

KARLIE KLOSS TEARS UP DISCUSSING HER SON: Karlie Kloss got choked up discussing her bond with son Levi on Today Wednesday (April 6th). The model's voice cracked as she told Hoda Kotb, "I just had this moment of like ‘Wow, every woman who has a child, every parent goes through this. It's just the most profound experience that I had no idea until having a kid." The Kode With Klossy founder and husband Joshua Kushner welcomed their son in 2021.

SHANA BURGESS SAYS HER SON ALREADY TAKS AFTER DAD: Shana Burgess says that even though he hasn't been born yet, her baby boy already takes after his dad, Brian Austin Green. She said in an Instagram story on Tuesday (April 5th), "So every time I try and film this belly moving, this boy moving, right, he stops. He's completely camera shy. Absolutely does not take after his mother. Definitely takes after his dad." The little guy is due around July 4th.

JESSE JAMES ENGAGED TO FORMER PORN STAR: Jesse James is engaged to former porn star Bonnie Rotten. The former film star made the announcement on Instagram Wednesday (April 5th), writing, "I knew the moment I met you I wanted to spend every single day with you. The way you love me and my little one was all I ever dreamed of." The will be the Monster Garage host's fifth walk down the aisle. His most famous marriage was to Sandra Bullock from 2005 to 2010.

BOB ODENKIRK BOOKS HIS NEXT SERIES: Bob Odenkirk is sticking with AMC following the conclusion of Better Call Saul. TVLine reports that his next series will be Straight Man, a dramedy that is in fast-tack development for the cable network. The show is a "mid-life crisis tale" based on the novel by Richard Russo.

THE ACADEMY MOVES UP WILL SMITH'S HEARING: The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday (April 6th) that they will be moving up their annual meeting by ten days to address sanctions for Will Smith's infamous Oscar slap. According to a letter from AMPAS president David Rubin to the Board of Governors that the originally scheduled April 18th meeting will now take place on the 8th.

EMMY AWARDS TO AIR ON SEPT. 12TH: The Emmys are set for 2022. The Television Academy and NBC said Wednesday (April 6th) that the 74th annual awards show will air live coast-to-coast on Monday, September 12th. Nominations for the 74th Emmy Awards will be announced July 12th.

KATE WALSH TO RETURN TO 'GREY'S ANATOMY': Grey's Anatomy announced Wednesday (April 6th) that Kate Walsh will return to the medical drama on May 5th. The Umbrella Academy actress confirmed the news by posting an Instagram video of her in costume, writing, "I'm back in uniform and that can only mean one thing…#GreysAnatomy Thursday, May 5th!"

After attending the 64th annual Grammy Awards together, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker snuck off and got married in Las Vegas. The pair were reportedly wed at a Las Vegas chapel at 1:30 a.m. local time on Monday (April 4th).

However, a source exclusively told Page Six that the ceremony was not legally binding. Sources say there will be "several" celebrations to come, and that this won't be their only wedding.

Apparently, the famous couple did not allow the venue to take pictures, but they brought their own photographer and security along with them. It's also reported that Kardashian and Barker requested an Elvis impersonator to officiate the wedding.
