Molly Shannon And Carson Daly Share Heartbreaking Experiences Of Losing A Parent At A Young Age

On Monday's (April 11th) episode of the Today show, Molly Shannon and Carson Daly each shared what it was like to lose a parent as a child. In her new memoir, Hello Molly!, Shannon details the loss of her mother in a car accident when she was just four years old.

As Daly interviewed Shannon, he shared that he also lost his father when he was only five years old to bladder cancer. "My whole adult life I've tried to figure out what impact did that have on my life now, my mental health and everything else," he said. Then he asked Shannon how she came to a place of gratitude, as he read in her book.

Shannon was emotional when she responded, "That part makes me a little sad, but I think when you lose a parent when you're so young, you have such a sense of how precious life is, and a kind of urgency. I think that makes me appreciative of people being alive, and time with people, and just appreciating the time on earth we do have with people."

Simon Cowell Says Face Fillers Turned Him Into 'Something Out Of A Horror Film'

Fans noticed that America's Got Talent host Simon Cowell looked a little different during the 2022 Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday (April 9th). TMZ reports that it's because he stopped getting Botox treatments.

Cowell told the publication that he's done getting face fillers because he looked "like something out a horror film." He added that he also stopped in part due to his son, Eric, being in "hysterics" about them.

"There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before' the other day, and didn't recognize it as me first of all," Cowell said.

He continued, "I probably did have a little too much Botox a couple of years ago, because everyone on TV has it. Now I have facials, but nothing too extravagant at the moment."

Will Smith Is Banned From The Academy Awards For 10 Years

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has banned Will Smith from attending all Academy events, including the Academy Awards, for 10 years. This comes after the King Richard actor slapped comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.

In a letter addressed to the "family" of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Academy president David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson said, "For a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events."

They also expressed "deep gratitude to Chris Rock for maintaining his composure under extraordinary circumstances."

Smith responded to the decision with a brief statement, saying, "I accept and respect the Academy's decision."

Diamond Ring Sparks Bennifer Engagement Rumors

Jennifer Lopez has been spotted wearing a possible engagement ring.

TMZ reports that J.Lo and her daughter, Emme, were out furniture shopping Monday (April 4th) when photographers caught the singer sporting a diamond on her left ring finger.

According to the outlet, she flipped the ring to hide the rock when she saw there were paparazzi present.

If Lopez is, indeed, engaged to Ben Affleck, this will be the second time. The Tender Bar actor first proposed to Lopez at his mother's home in October 2002 after three months of dating.

Betty White's Belongings To Be Auctioned Off

Betty White's personal items will be auctioned off in September.

Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills put the Golden Girl's awards, paintings, scripts, jewlery and red carpet outfits on display Tuesday (April 5th).

Martin Nolan, the executive director of Julien's Auctions, told The New York Post, "All these items came from her home in Brentwood or her residence in Carmel in northern California, where she lived with her husband Allen Ludden."

He added that the most personal item is a "14-carat gold watch that was gifted to Betty Dec. 25, 1940 with the initials T.C.W. which, of course, is Tess White, Betty's mom."

According to a statement sent to People, the show's Thursday night performance was cancelled and "News about future performances of Plaza suite will be announced as soon as possible. Everyone wishes Matthew and Sarah Jessica a speedy recovery."

KEENAN THOMPSON AND WIFE CALL IT QUITS: Kenan Thompson and Christina Evangeline have decided to call it quits after 11 years of marriage. Sources close to the couple tell TMZ they have been separated for over a year now and are expected to file for divorce soon. DISNEY TAUNTED 'NEWSIES' STARS WITH BAD REVIEWS: Disney's press department was so disappointed when Newsies flopped back in 1992 that they allegedly sent the out the harsh reviews to some of the film's stars. Ele Keats, who played Srah Jacobs in the film told Insider she was sent "all of the horrific reviews for Newsies "in the mail" from "someone from Disney." She added, I think someone in the press department thought maybe I would enjoy reading them. I don't know why.

She wasn't alone. Arvie Lowe Jr, who played Boots, said he too received copies of Newsies reviews in the mail nearly every week. Many of them referred to the movie as being "terrible" and the acting as "subpar."

Kourtney Kardashian shared photos from her Las Vegas wedding to Travis Barker on Wednesday (April 6th) and confirmed that the ceremony wasn't legit.

Joe Exotic's Ex Willing To Sign Off On Their Divorce

Joe Exotic's estranged husband, Dillon Passage, says he is willing to sign off on their divorce as long as the Tiger King agrees to his terms.

His lawyers, Chris Kirker and Holly Davis, tell TMZ that Passage wants both parties to walk away with what they owned coming into the marriage and a permanent injunction preventing Exotic from contacting him directly, stalking or harassing him.

Passage's legal team says these terms were previously offered in September and the Netflix star responded with, "It will be a cold day in hell before I sign these papers … You're out of your f***ing mind."

The 69-year-old star of the Wrestler posted a selfie on Instagram Tuesday (April 5th) showing a bloody gash on his forehead. The actor wrote in the caption, "Looks like my skateboarding days are over."

BOB ODENKIRK BOOKS HIS NEXT SERIES: Bob Odenkirk is sticking with AMC following the conclusion of Better Call Saul. TVLine reports that his next series will be Straight Man, a dramedy that is in fast-tack development for the cable network. The show is a "mid-life crisis tale" based on the novel by Richard Russo.

THE ACADEMY MOVES UP WILL SMITH'S HEARING: The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday (April 6th) that they will be moving up their annual meeting by ten days to address sanctions for Will Smith's infamous Oscar slap. According to a letter from AMPAS president David Rubin to the Board of Governors that the originally scheduled April 18th meeting will now take place on the 8th.

EMMY AWARDS TO AIR ON SEPT. 12TH: The Emmys are set for 2022. The Television Academy and NBC said Wednesday (April 6th) that the 74th annual awards show will air live coast-to-coast on Monday, September 12th. Nominations for the 74th Emmy Awards will be announced July 12th.

KATE WALSH TO RETURN TO 'GREY'S ANATOMY': Grey's Anatomy announced Wednesday (April 6th) that Kate Walsh will return to the medical drama on May 5th. After attending the 64th annual Grammy Awards together, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker snuck off and got married in Las Vegas. The pair were reportedly wed at a Las Vegas chapel at 1:30 a.m. local time on Monday (April 4th).

However, a source exclusively told Page Six that the ceremony was not legally binding. Sources say there will be "several" celebrations to come, and that this won't be their only wedding.

Apparently, the famous couple did not allow the venue to take pictures, but they brought their own photographer and security along with them. It's also reported that Kardashian and Barker requested an Elvis impersonator to officiate the wedding.
