Read about Emily’s below. Isn’t it amazing what a little love can do?!

Emily is a 5-year-old terrier mix who weighs about 20 pounds. She was surrendered to the shelter last October and adopted last December. She came to us as a shy, heartworm positive dog. Fortunately, a family who volunteers here saw her and fell in love. They wanted to foster her to get her out of the shelter since she was such a timid girl. Once they got her home, however, they decided she was too perfect a fit and couldn’t imagine letting anyone else adopt her. We treated Emily for her heartworms and now she is an official member of the Flerl family. She gets lots of play time with her canine siblings and lots of snuggle time with her people. She has become more outgoing and confident. And, as you can see in her pictures, she even helps with the nightly chore of loading the dishwasher.
