Phatti the Chicken in a Wheelchair

We learned about Phatti from Melissa at McKamey Animal Center who was rescued after she escaped the back of a chicken truck! Unfortunately, Phatti was injured during her escape from the slaughterhouse and could no longer use her legs. Many of Phatti’s other friends, who escaped the chicken truck, were also injured in the escape, but not as badly as Phatti. Melissa didn’t let that stop her. She searched and searched on how to help her new chickens looking for different facebook forums and actually found a company in Australia that makes animal wheelchairs. She ordered a chicken wheelchair, rehabilitated Phatti ad her best friend Chickpea and got them used to life again. Here’s how Phatti and Chickpea are doing now.
