More than a year after Perry Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro during a Boston show, Jane’s Addiction has officially broken up, with both Farrell and the other members – Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins – issuing separate statements on social media apologizing for the 2024 onstage altercation while announcing their decision to end the band. The incident led to canceled reunion tour dates, dueling lawsuits alleging misconduct and harassment, and Farrell seeking medical treatment. In his statement, Farrell reflects on the incident and admits that he “didn’t handle myself the way I should have. I apologize to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show.” The other three members issued their own statement, which reads: “Today we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Jane’s Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together.
