Social Media Brings Heirloom Back To Family

A New York woman was able to recover a precious family heirloom thanks to a Facebook post. Celia Bashaw was in search of a leopard carving made by her uncle in 1980. She began to look for the piece after her mother, who loved the carving, passed away. Unfortunately, the artwork was accidentally sold when her grandmother’s house was cleared out years ago. “I desperately want to keep this in my family,” Bashaw’s Facebook post read. Chris McKirryher and Phil Matte saw the post and noted that they had a carving just like it. The pair, who live in Rutland, New York, were able to reunite Bashaw with the artwork. “I wish I could tell my mom about it right now,” Bashaw said. “She would be so elated.” (UPI)
