Teen Given $580 Fine For Using Phone In Drive-thru
A Canadian teenager is facing a $580 fine…or about $426 American dollars…for using his phone while in a McDonald’s drive-thru. Mason Prima was using the McDonald’s app to complete his order and redeem his reward points. A motorcycle cop behind him in the drive-thru then pulled him over. “I did think he was just going to let me go because I’m just trying to get a free meal, but no, turns out to be a very expensive lunch,” Prima said. He also said the McDonald’s staff had even asked him to use the app to complete the order. He is planning to fight the fine in court on July 31st. (Saskatoon)
