Daycare Workers Allegedly Fed Kids Melatonin

New Hampshire police are alleging that four daycare workers gave kids the sleep aid melatonin without their parents’ knowledge. The owner and three employees were arrested in Manchester and charged with 10 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Fortunately, there are no reports of any of the children falling ill. “This is an over-the-counter drug that can be given as a sleep aid, but for it to be given to children without the knowledge or consent of the parents, it’s very concerning,” Heather Hamel of the Manchester Police Department said. Police suspect that the melatonin was given to the children in their food. Parents should consult a doctor before giving their children melatonin. (newser)
