300 Participants Compete In T-Rex World Championship Races

In Washington, over 300 people donned inflatable dinosaur costumes and competed in the annual T-Rex World Championship Races at Emerald Downs racetrack. The event, which started as a team-building exercise for TriGuard Pest Control in 2017, has since gained widespread popularity and is now open to the public. After being suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the races returned in 2022, with Houston resident Andrew Stuber crowned as the top Tyrannosaurus. This year’s event also included an aerial component, with three T-Rex-clad skydivers parachuting onto the field before racing to the finish line. The full T-Rex World Championship Races are set to be broadcast on ESPN 2 later this summer. (Upi)
