Chihuahua Guides Rescuers to Fallen Hiker on Swiss Glacier

Rescuers praised a Chihuahua for guiding them to a hiker who had fallen into a crevasse on the Fee Glacier in southern Switzerland. The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, plummeted approximately 26 feet after breaking through a snow bridge. Equipped with a walkie-talkie, he managed to contact someone nearby who alerted emergency services. However, his precise location was unknown until the pacing pooch caught the attention of a rescue team member. The rescuers located the man, extracted him from the crevasse, and airlifted him and his loyal dog to a hospital. AirZermatt spokesperson Bruno Kalbermatten credited the Chihuahua with potentially saving the man’s life. (Newser)
