Oldest Living Horse, Once Owned by Burt Reynolds, Passes Away At 40

Mokie, the Florida-based Arabian horse recognized as the world’s oldest living horse by Guinness World Records, has passed away at the age of 40. Originally named Mohawk, Mokie was bred on actor Burt Reynolds’ ranch in 1985 before finding a new home with Arica Dzama in Jupiter, Florida. Despite the average lifespan of horses being 25 to 30 years, Mokie lived well beyond that, equivalent to about 115 in human years. Under Dzama’s care, Mokie transitioned into a therapy horse, providing comfort to those in need.
