Mom Stunned After Snake Falls Out Of Gift Box During 3-Year-Old’s Birthday Party

Earlier this month, Jennifer Baker of Liverpool, England, discovered a live snake inside her daughter’s birthday gift box. After placing the empty box on the oven during the party, Baker noticed it felt unexpectedly heavy while moving it. Suddenly, a bright orange snake dropped out, she told the BBC. At first, Baker thought her sons were playing a prank. “I said ‘Whose is this’ because I was thinking ‘They haven’t got a toy snake that looks like that,'” she explained. When the snake’s tongue flicked, she realized it was real. “I just was in shock… I was thinking, how has a snake got in my kitchen?” Baker’s mother helped capture the snake, which wrapped around her arm. The reptile, a non-venomous pet corn snake, was later returned to a nearby neighbor. (People)
