Do You Have “Techxiety”?

If you’re a parent, chances are you’ve spent a few nights staring at the ceiling wondering what your kids are doing on their phones. According to a new survey of 2,000 parents of school-aged children, technology has become one of the biggest sources of modern parenting stress.

It’s called “techxiety” . . . and it’s when parents worry about their kids’ screen time habits . . . or social media’s impact on their self-esteem . . . or whether they have a gaming addiction.

The problem is most parents still want their kids to have access to a phone in emergencies. But then it spirals into worrying about too much screen time.

It’s gotten so bad that the survey found parents lose an average of seven hours of sleep per week. That’s the equivalent of 48 nights of sleep per year lost due to “techxiety.”

The study also found that many parents wish there were simpler devices available that allowed texting and calls without all the distractions.
