Bear Throws Itself An Ice Cream Social In Tahoe
Last weekend, deputies in California responded to an unusual call at a South Lake Tahoe ice cream shop. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office reported a large bear inside the Camp Richardson eatery. The Los Angeles Times described it as a “big surprise,” with the bear found sitting behind the counter. “The deputies could barely believe their eyes,” the sheriff’s department said. After some persuasion, they removed the bear, nicknamed “Fuzzy,” who showed interest in the strawberry ice cream. Officials confirmed the bear caused minimal damage and cleanup was minor. Authorities cautioned the public that, despite the attention such encounters receive, “bears are not ideal customers and should not be tempted with sweet treats,” according to KRCR. (Newser)
