Gen Z Workers Questioning Value Of College Education
A recent report by Resume Genius reveals that a significant portion of Gen Z employees are doubting the benefits of a college education. Approximately 1 in 4 Gen Z workers believe that higher education was not worth the investment, with nearly 1 in 5 feeling that their degree did not contribute to their career advancement. Particularly for those who did not major in STEM or healthcare fields, the perceived value of their education is lower. While 87% of tech and medical graduates found their degrees beneficial, only 51% of arts, humanities, or social sciences graduates shared the same sentiment. Additionally, Gen Z is reshaping the concept of a successful career by embracing side hustles, with over half currently engaged in one and another quarter considering it. This trend is particularly prevalent among those with associate degrees. (Newser)
