Mistaken Identity Leads to Flood of Calls for Nonexistent Cat Owner
A British Columbia woman, Natasha Lavoie, and her partner, Jonathan McCurrach, have been inundated with calls about a missing cat named Torbo, even though their actual cat, Mauser, is safe at home. The confusion stemmed from a T-shirt sold by Wisdumb NY featuring a missing cat poster with Lavoie’s phone number printed on it. Numerous individuals have contacted Lavoie claiming to have found Torbo and requesting money. Wisdumb NY has since removed the shirt from their online store, citing the unintentional use of a real phone number in their design. Despite the inconvenience, Lavoie has chosen to keep her phone number, which she has had for 20 years, and hopes for a sincere apology from the company. (Upi)
