World’s Oldest Sloth Turns 54, Has 22 Children

The world’s oldest sloth, named Jan, is celebrating his 54th birthday at the Krefeld Zoo in Germany. Jan has lived in Germany since 1971, and is originally from South America. He holds the record for oldest living sloth in captivity ever. Zoo officials also say he has fathered his 22nd child, and is still in great health. Two-toed sloths usually live for around 20 years.
