A local widow of a World War II veteran is turning 100 soon, and we would love for her to get lots of birthday cards in the mail !! The widow’s name is Hazel Wilson, her special birthday will be April 19th, and you can send a “Happy 100th Birthday” card to Hazel, at her daughter’s house; the address is 5230 Cassandra Smith Road, Hixson TN 37343 ..
Spring Break for Hamilton County Schools is April 3rd through 7th, and there are lots of free things for the kids to do: Tuesday April 4th, there will be a Community Cookout, at “Community Haven” on North Hickory Street. The hours are from 4 til 7pm, so bring the family. It’s a free cookout.
The “Road To Nightfall Preliminary Round” for talented local bands is starting Thursday April 6th. YOUR band can audition and possibly win a chance to play AT Riverbend in June!! The website for more info is SoundCorps.org, and click “Events”. And good luck!
“Taste Chattanooga” returns on Thursday April 13th at First Horizon Pavilion. The event sold out last year, so don’t be left out. Ticket sales benefit the Kidney Foundation of Chattanooga, and the event includes unlimited sampling, live music, and a huge auction. The Better Business Bureau will host another “Shred Day” on April 15th, from 9am until 12noon. The location will be the Coca-Cola Bottling Company on Shepherd Road in Brainerd. You can shred old documents that have your personal information on them; also old hard drives and laptops; plus bring outdated prescriptions and get rid of them as well.
