250 Reasons to Love America

Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend celebrating America. It sure is an awesome place to call home. A list is going around called the “250 Reasons to Love America” . . . Here are our favorites:
1. The chocolate chip cookie . . . invented in 1938 at the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts.
2. Air conditioning. Especially during this heat wave. AC was invented in 1902 by an engineer named Willis Carrier in Brooklyn, New York.
3. The comic book. Technically, comic books were invented in the 1830s in France, but it was American comic books that created all of the superheroes we see today.
4. Hip-hop. Born in the Bronx, baby.
5. Stand-up comedy. From Mark Twain to Nate Bargatze, what a journey.
6. The Pacific Coast Highway. One of the most beautiful coastal drives anywhere in the world.
7. Our national parks. Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Glacier, Zion, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Nobody does parks better than the U.S.A.
8. The seventh-inning stretch. Singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” . . . eating a hot dog . . . drinking a beer . . . watching America’s pastime.
9. American pie. Just like the saying, “As American as apple pie.”
10. And last, but not least, Dolly Parton. She’s a national treasure.
(You can check out all 250 reasons here. It was hard to pick just 10.)
