/- The first Friday in September is always “National Wear Teal Day”. Teal is the color for Ovarian Cancer, so wear Teal to honor those who are fighting Ovarian Cancer, and those who have lost their battle with the disease. That’s this Friday Sept. 4th.

/- The next full Ironman Chattanooga 140 is Sunday Sept. 27th. The athletes themselves continue to vote Chattanooga as a Top 5 Ironman City around the world, so the race will probably sell out. And volunteers are needed. Visit Ironman.com and click “volunteer” to sign up.

/- East Ridge Animal Shelter needs volunteers to help take shelter dogs to the East Ridge Fall Festival, at Camp Jordan. The dates will be September 19th or September 20th, for just a few hours either day. These outings give the community a chance to meet the dogs, and hopefully to adopt them as well. Call (423) 468-1432 if you would like to help.

/The “Run 4 Kids Walk” benefits the Ronald McDonald House, and will be September 19th at the Tennessee Riverpark. This 1-Mile Walk and 5K Run will honor the legacy of Karen Lawrence, who died of leukemia when she was 11 years old. Sign up today for the “Run 4 Kids Walk”, at RMHchattanooga.com (which stands for Ronald McDonald House). That’s R M H chattanooga.com
