Dentists Say Not to Make These Mistakes While Brushing Your Teeth

Do you have brushing teeth down to a science? Because, unless you’re strict, chances are you’re making some mistakes along the way.
According to dentists, here’s a list of the most common mistakes they see people making when brushing their teeth:
1. Not brushing for a full two minutes. The goal is 30 seconds in all four quadrants.
2. Forgetting to brush your teeth before bed. At night we make less saliva, which helps to neutralize acid. So, the nighttime brush is extra important.
3. Rinsing after brushing. The toothpaste keeps working after you’re done . . . unless you rinse it all out.
4. Missing parts of your teeth. You need to brush the front, sides, back, and chewing area. Plaque hides everywhere.
5. Flossing after you brush. To get the most out of your dental routine, you need to floss BEFORE you brush your teeth.
6. Forgetting to clean your tongue. The tongue holds a lot of bacteria, so don’t forget it.
They also recommend you stop chewing sugary gum . . . and suggest switching to sugar-free instead.
