Want to Cure Your Migraine? Try Some McDonald’s

This may sound crazy, but people are swearing by it. The next time you have a migraine, try some McDonald’s.

This sounds like a commercial from hell, but neurologists are confirming it could help you in the moment.

According to the internet, the famous “Migraine Meal” is: a large Coke, and a large fry. That’s it. (No wonder I’ve been migraine-free all these years.)

Here’s why it can work for you:

1. There are 80 milligrams of caffeine in a large Coke from McDonald’s. Caffeine has pain relief properties . . . which is why the most common migraine medicine, Excedrin, has caffeine in it.

2. The saltiness of the fries. The salt should help balance your electrolytes, and the carbs can help blood sugar levels.

(You can listen to a neurologist breaking it down, here.)

This is NOT a one-size-fits-all approach . . . and in NO WAY should this become your go-to migraine hack, but some people love it.

A neurologist named Dr. Matthew Robbins summed it up well. He said, “We know migraines are associated with worse cardiovascular health . . . and, having a fatty meal and a big caffeinated soda is not really good for you in general . . .

“If someone finds that they improve with this hack, that’s great for them . . . but, if they’re using it often, that’s not good for you either.”
