A Study Found Fiber Might Prevent Your Body from Absorbing “Forever” Chemicals

A high-fiber diet is good because it improves gut health, lowers cholesterol, helps regulate blood sugar, and here’s one more that’s new . . .
A study found getting more fiber in your diet can reduce the amount of FOREVER CHEMICALS in your body.
They’re found in certain cleaning products, non-stick cookware, and even shampoo. They’re called “forever” chemicals because they don’t break down easily in the environment.
Almost everyone has them in their blood now, and it can take YEARS to flush them out. So, preventing more from getting in is important.
The study found we don’t absorb as many when we eat lots of fiber, but they’re not sure why. They think it might create a sort of “gel” that lines your stomach and prevents them from being absorbed.
Good sources of fiber include fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, and seeds. Foods that DON’T have much include meat, eggs, pasta, and white bread.
