Four Tips If You’re Hitting Up a Spirit Halloween This Weekend

Halloween is just a week away, so you’re running out of time to find a costume. If you’re hitting up a Spirit Halloween store this weekend, here are four things to keep in mind . . . according to someone who worked there.

1. Browse the entire store. You can find hidden gems everywhere. The checkout line in particular has lots of fun accessories and novelty items.

2. Don’t go straight for the cheap stuff. If you only plan to wear the costume once, it’s fine to cheap out. But investing a little more in the higher-quality items can make it something you’ll re-wear in the future.

3. If you’re buying makeup and prosthetic kits, buy the removal products too. Most Halloween store makeup isn’t top quality. And it can be hard to remove at the end of the night with just soap and water.

4. Don’t forget that they stay open after Halloween. There are usually clearance sales on November 1st and 2nd, so you can get a head start for next year.
