How Long Would It Take Your Cat to Forget You?

Mitsuki 1

A lot of us just skipped town for the holidays and left our pets at home. So this is topical . . .

If you leave your dog for a week and come back, they’ll remember you and go nuts when you come back. But what about CATS? They’re a lot harder to read.

So, how long would it take your cat to FORGET you? If you leave for a month, do they just think you’re a random human again? Or how about a year?

The question is trending after someone posted a video on Instagram that claims the answer is . . . no, your cat would NEVER forget you. Just like dogs, they have a very good long-term memory.

A writer for “Newsweek” asked a vet about it, and they pretty much agreed. Quote, “Cats don’t easily forget their owners, especially if the connection was strong and stable.”
