There is a big Adoption Event, this Sunday April 21st, at Cottonwood Farms in Cleveland, Tennessee. It’s from 12noon til 6pm Sunday, and will be at the Cottonwood Farms’ Farmers Market.. The event is sponsored by the SPCA, the Society For The Prevention of Cruelty To Animals. And fresh food will be given to new pet owners who adopt during the event. Sunday at the Cottonwood Farms’ Farmers Market in Cleveland, from noon til 6.

Applications are being accepted for “Future Docs”, a local program for high school graduates who want a career in medicine. This forum gives students a behind-the-scenes look at a medical career, and is sponsored by The Medical Society of Chattanooga. You are invited to recycle your certified eclipse glasses, and help people in South America view the next eclipse safely..The Collegedale Public Library at 9318 Apison Pike is accepting your eclipse glasses; they will clean them, refurbish them, and send them to those in the Totality Area in South America. That next eclipse will be in October. That’s the Collegedale Public Library, during business hours.

Veterans and their families are invited to a “Veterans Outreach and Fair”, April 27th at The Alhambra Shriners location in East Brainerd. From 9am until 3pm on the 27th, veterans will connect with other veterans, enjoy snacks and information, and find out about local jobs as well. That’s Saturday April 27th, at 9am, at the Alhambra Shriners location, off Premier Drive at East Brainerd Road. And it’s all free.

“Earth Day” and “Earth Week” are being celebrated April 20th through the 27th, and “Chattanooga Parks And Outdoors” has a LOT planned. Join the activities outside the Tennessee Aquarium this Saturday AND Sunday the 20th and 21st; the Crabtree Farms Plant Sale is this Saturday and Sunday; you can help clean up East Lake Park on Saturday morning at 9; UTC will have an “Earth Day Environmental Showcase” on Monday the 22nd at 11:30 on campus; there will be a “Photography Walk-And-Talk” at Renaissance Park on Tuesday night at 6.
