The fountains at Coolidge Park will open for the season, Wednesday May 1st.

The Armed Forces Parade is this Friday, May 3rd at 10:30am. The parade route will be along Market Street, from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, up to the Aquarium. All branches of the military will be honored this year, and there will be lots of school groups, non profit groups, and veterans groups involved as well. Line the streets this Friday for America’s longest-running Armed Forces Parade – this will be Chattanooga’s 75th Armed Forces Parade! The most in America!

The next Ironman that Chattanooga will be hosting is set for May 19th. Find out more at Ironman.com. And they need volunteers too. It will be a 70.3-mile Ironman on May 19th. More details are at Ironman.com. And their full 144-mile Ironman will be in Chattanooga in September.

Throwback Thursday” is this Thursday, May 2nd, at the Hunter Museum. Enjoy free admission from 4pm til 8pm, for the Hunter’s permanent collection, AND their special exhibition. Free admission at the Hunter, this Thursday from 4 til 8pm.

East Ridge Animal Services hopes to “Empty The Shelter”, between May 6th through May 15th. During that time, adoption fees will be waived for dogs and cats, and they hope to find all animals a loving home. East Ridge Animal Services.
