McKamey Animal Center is thrilled to be opening a new satellite location, at 4001 Rossville Boulevard. The grand opening will be on January 26th, when McKamey will start taking care of some of the basic needs of neighborhood pet owners – such as food, treats, and toys. 95% of pet owners say their pets are part of their family, and McKamey is trying to help keep pets in the home, by helping with some of those basic needs. Again, the grand opening will be January 26th at 4001 Rossville Boulevard.
Goodwill is hosting a Job Fair on January 29th from 10 until 2, at the Lafayette / Walker County Library on South Duke Street. There will be on-site interviews, for positions at the soon-to-be-reopened Goodwill Store in Lafayette. That’s on the 29th.
Join the community for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade, this Monday the 15th. The line-up is at 12:30 at Georgia Avenue and Miller Park. Then head over to Olivet Baptist Church to hear keynote speakers. That’s this Monday the 15th. Also, this Monday the 15th, CARTA will operate on a “Saturday Schedule”, and the post office will be closed Monday the 15th for the holiday.
The National Park Service will observe a Free Day this Monday the 15th, by not charging an entrance fee to Point Park at the Lookout Mountain Battlefield. (The Cravens House and The Chickamauga Battlefield are always free).
Ruby Falls is celebrating its 95th anniversary, with discounted admission every Thursday in January. Residents of Bradley, Catoosa, Dade, Hamilton, Marion, and Walker Counties can purchase tickets for just $16.95, IN PERSON, each Thursday this month.
