The East Ridge Optimist Club invites you to their annual Car & Motorcycle Show, and Swap Meet, July 13th at Camp Jordan. Lots of prizes and trophies and fun from 8:30am until 1:30pm. Money raised will fund scholarships for area kids. July 13th at Camp Jordan.

Kids ages 7 to 17 can take part in the annual “Community Football Camp”, hosted by Chattanooga’s own McClendon Curtis of the Seattle Seahawks. Blood Assurance heads to Cleveland Tennessee and invites you to donate blood – ALL blood types are appreciated. They will be at Wesley Memorial Church on Peerless Road, this Monday July 1st from 8:30 until 1… and Blood Assurance will also be at Michael’s Art Supply on Paul Huff Parkway, Tuesday July 2nd from 8:30 until 1. They appreciate you helping out for anticipated blood needs over the July 4th holiday. That’s Monday & Tuesday.

There is a continued need for new fans and for bottled water, for those in our area with no air conditioning. It’s called the “Beat The Heat Campaign”, with the Salvation Army; they hope you can drop off a boxed fan or packs of bottled water, at their Chattanooga headquarters at 800 McCallie Avenue.

The Chattanooga Library Downtown has opened a new exhibit honoring the musical group The Impressions. This influential group was formed by Curtis Mayfield, and included Chattanooga natives Fred Cash & Sam Gooden. The exhibit will be at the Downtown Library for a year, on display, and features collections from the Songbirds Foundation.
