The Chattanooga Zoo is partnering with the local library, and everyone ages 18 and younger will get free admission to the zoo, IF you have a library card! So all young library card holders, enjoy the zoo, for free, this Sunday Jan. 21st, from 9am until 12noon. And bring your library card!
The Humane Society has a few dozen empty coolers, that they have filled with straw, that you can have, if you have lots of stray animals in your area. The strays can hop inside to stay warm, and you are welcome to a straw-filled cooler, while they last. Call the Humane Society at (423) 624-5302.
Blood donations are at a CRITICAL LOW in our area … a CRITICAL LOW. All blood types are appreciated, especially O- and O+ … Call Blood Assurance to schedule an appointment at (423) 756-0966. Or visit their website, BloodAssurance.org and put in your zip code. Walk-ins are welcome too! Blood Assurance hopes that everyone from high-schoolers to grand- parents will donate blood.
You’re invited to the annual “Skillet Curling Competition”, on Thursday January 25th at 6pm. The event is FREE to watch, and will be held at Ice On The Landing, at First Horizon Pavilion… Dozens of teams from around the area want your vote, AND your donations will benefit the Chattanooga Food Bank. That’s Thursday the 25th at Ice On The Landing, for the Curling Competition.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has stocked Lake Acorn with 1,600 rainbow trout, and you’re invited to go fishing. It is “Catch-And-Release-Only”, through March 31st. Lake Acorn is in Montgomery Bell State Park, outside of Nashville.
