1/- A parade for the N.I.T. Champions, the Chattanooga Mocs Men’s basketball team, is scheduled for this Thursday April 17th. The parade will start at 6pm and will end in Miller Park, for a community Pep Rally. The team and the coach will be there, as well as the UTC Band and Spirit Squad, and community leaders. You can park for free behind the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. The parade will go from Mabel Street to East MLK, to Georgia Avenue, to Miller Park. Thursday night at 6.
2/- The “Main Street Clean-Up-Litter Day” is Sunday April 27th from 11 until 1. Meet at 2602 East Main Street and wear comfortable shoes; bring gloves if you have any. All the supplies you need will be provided to you. Help clean up the Southside on April 27th, from 11 until 1.
3/- Nightfall is May 2nd through July 4th, with FREE music every Friday night, in Miller Plaza and in Miller Park. This year, there will be games and inflatables for the kids, and lots of vendors to shop from. Nightfall is presented by “Chattanooga Presents”..
4/- McKamey Animal Center has 51 puppies and 200 dogs that are in need of Foster Homes or Permanent Homes. Visit their website to find out about bringing a doggie into your family: McKameyAnimalCenter.org
5/- Crabtree Farms will hold its annual Spring Plant Sale And Festival, April 25th through the 27th. The Festival will feature food trucks, kids activities, live music and much more, and admission is free. And thousands of plants will be for sale. Crabtree Farms is located at 1000 East 30th Street.
6/- “Babies And Blooms Earth Day Weekend Festival” is Saturday April 26th, from 10 until 1, on the North Shore. Celebrate Babies AND the Earth, for expenctant parents, those with young children, and grandparents too. There will be lots of resources, vendors, games, prizes, and celebrating parenthood AND celebrating Earth Day Weekend. On the 26th at the Small Business Development Center, 100 Cherokee Boulevard.
