/- Chattanooga’s “World Cup Watch Party” is this Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday, on The Green, which is the huge grassy area next to the Aquarium. The community is invited to watch all the World Cup matches, including the USA taking on Australia. There will be a giant screen, food trucks and family activities ALL weekend, and it’s free, so bring your blanket and head downtown.

/- This Sunday June 21st is “Make Music Day Chattanooga”, part of a world-wide project to bring communities together through the power of music. All around Chattanooga on Sunday, from area churches to the Creative Discovery Museum, to the Visitors Center, to pop-up concerts on street corners, you’ll find free music throughout the day. Join in at #MakeMusicCHA

/- Active duty military, including The Guard and The Reserves, receive free admission to many museums, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It’s called “The Blue Star Military Free Family Program”, and here in Chattanooga, you receive free admission to the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, the Houston Museum, the Hunter Museum, and the Towing & Recovery Museum. All summer long. Free for active duty and their families.

/- The Tennessee Aquarium recently welcomed a newborn Red-Collared Brown Lemur, and parents and baby are doing just fine. This is a first for the Aquarium, and they can’t tell just yet if it’s a boy or a girl ! But you can help name the baby now, and the winning name will be revealed July 9th. Visit TNaqua.org

/- Chattanooga has been ranked #32 on the list of The Top 100 Cities For A Stay-Cation, from “Wallet Hub” Finance And Budget App. The Scenic City received high marks for our recreation, food, and rest and relaxation possibilities. (Knoxville was #37, Charleston SC came in at #20, Atlanta was #7, and #1 on the list is Orlando.)

/- Celebrate Juneteenth, this Friday the 19th, at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center. From 11 until 5 on Friday, enjoy documentary screenings, live music, and kids activities. It’s free this Friday and open to the community.

/- The Post Office is closed on the 19th for Juneteenth, so no mail will be delivered this Friday.
