1/- Chattanooga has been named the second-best city in America … for boating. This is from “Boat-Booker Magazine”… San Diego was voted #1, but Chattanooga is second, and our rivers and lakes, natural beauty, our waterfront, and our Southern hospitality are mentioned as the reasons why. We are #2 on the list for the best boating in America.
2/- The Elks Lodge #91 invites everyone to their Pancake Breakfast, Saturday July 26th from 8 until 10:30am. This will be a fund-raiser to help raise money for a local teen who is battling cancer. That’s July 26th, a Pancake Breakfast, co-sponsored by “The Friends Of Apison And East Brainerd”. It will be held at Elks Lodge #91 at 1067 Graysville Road.
3/- Starting August 5th, we will need to dial the area code AND the phone number, for all the calls we make here in Southeast Tennessee.. That’s because we’re getting ready for a brand new area code, which will be 729. So starting August 5th, EVERY call we make will have to start with the area code, no matter what the area code is.
4/- Bonnaroo has just announced their concert dates for NEXT year. Bonnaroo 2026 will be June 11th through June 14th, on “the farm” in Manchester, Tennessee.
5/- Chattanooga Parks And Outdoors invites everyone to their “Back To School Bash”, Sunday August 3rd at 2:00, in Miller Park. Free school supplies, games, inflatables, and face painting. Plus free haircuts for the first 100 kids! “The Back To School Bash”, August 3rd in Miller Park.
6/- A quick reminder that the price of a regular first-class stamp is now 78 cents.
