What Happens to Unsold Girl Scout Cookies?

It’s sad to say, but Girl Scout cookie season is winding down.

And I know it might sound surprising, but not every box of Girl Scout cookies gets sold each season. Here’s what happens when they have leftover boxes . . .

Some transfer them in between troops so they can continue to sell after the season. But mostly they are focusing on donations.

Girl Scouts are encouraged to work with local food pantries and charities so leftover cookies can be shared with people in need.

And if any boxes still remain after that . . . troops can enjoy them themselves.

(What’s your favorite Girl Scout cookie? I could eat a sleeve of Thin Mints in one sitting.)
