1/ – Blood donations are always down during the holiday season, but Blood Assurance always needs blood donors. Online, visit BloodAssurance.org and put in your zip code, to find a convenient donation location. And ALL blood types are always appreciated, at Blood Assurance.

2/ – The Lafayette Housing Authority holds a Food Giveaway, on the third Tuesday of every month. It is free to anyone in need; simply drive through at 300 Oak Street in Lafayette. The Food Giveaway is from 10am til 12noon on the third Tuesday of each month, in Lafayette.

3/ – The Humane Society is offering free “community cat shelters”, for residents who have a lot of stray cats in their neighborhood. If you’re worried about those cats during the very cold nights ahead, the “community cat shelters” could offer warmth to them. The shelter sizes are small, medium, and large, and are available from 12noon til 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday, while supplies last. The Humane Society is at 4155 Randolph Circle, just off Amnicola Highway near 153. Or HESchatt.org

4/ – Enjoy free admission to the Hunter Museum’s permanent collection, this Thursday December 4th. From 4pm til 8pm this Thursday, you’ll enjoy the Museum, after-hours, at no charge.

5/ – Make A Wish of East Tennessee has granted 87 wishes so far this year. One of those kids was Walter, a 15-year-old from Bristol who is battling cancer. His wish of a brand new gaming center was granted, and Walter is now enjoying a new laptop and tv and games. There are 125 kids still on the waiting list, so donate today, at Wish.org/ETN
