Too Dark or Cold Outside? Here’s How to Get Your Steps in Anyway

Do you like to take a daily walk? Because it’s getting tougher to fit them in with less sunlight and colder weather. It’s been a bit of a buzzkill.

But all hope is not lost. There are still ways you can get your steps in, even if it’s awful outside.

According to fitness experts, here are some fun exercise workarounds:

1. Walk inside your home . . . Do some laps down the hallway and around your furniture.

2. Hit the stairs

3. Do outdoor chores when you can

4. Walk the mall or grocery store . . . If your house doesn’t work, the mall is always a great place to walk and people watch.

5. Have a dance party

6. Move more at work . . . Make small changes like using the printer or bathroom that’s further away, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

And if you’re forgetful, try setting movement reminders. An alarm that reminds you to get up and stretch or go take a walk could make a big difference.
