Four Ways to Make Your Bedroom More Like a Hotel Room

Would you be starting the week with more pep in your step if you set your bedroom up like a HOTEL ROOM? A poll found 73% of people sleep better in hotels, so Lifehacker.com did a list of four ways to make your bedroom feel more like one. The first one is pricy, but the rest aren’t too hard . . .

1. Upgrade your bedding. Even mid-tier hotels have high-end mattresses. The pillows, sheets, and duvets are also high-quality. A lot of hotels sell that stuff now, or they’ll at least tell you which brands they use.

2. Make your bedroom darker. Even if you turn on every light in a hotel room, they’re typically pretty dark. Less light tends to equal better sleep, so they usually have blackout curtains too.

3. Cool the room down. The ideal temperature for sleep is cooler than you think, around 65 degrees. That’s one reason hotel rooms are so cold.

4. Keep your bedroom clean. Studies have shown filth and clutter have a negative impact on sleep. Hotel rooms are cleaned regularly, and they always make the bed.
