According to Variety, Alsup tweeted on September 18th, "I worked on this project and I was 1 of 2 Black people on the crew and they kept calling me her name. We both had braids, she was dark skin and 5'10. I'm 5'5. Working on this took everything I had as I was treated horribly. I look at the Black female lead differently now too." Alsup told The Los Angeles Times, "The trailer itself gave me PTSD, which is why I ended up writing that tweet and I didn't think that anybody was going to read." Alsup also said, "It was one of the worst shows that I've ever worked on. I was always being called someone else's name, the only other Black girl who looked nothing like me, and I learned the names for 300 background extras."

‘COMMUNITY' MOVIE IN THE WORKS: Entertainment Tonight reports that a movie based on the TV show Community is in the works at Peacock. Cast members Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong are all set to reunite in the film. ‘EMANCIPATION' GETS ITS FIRST SCREENING: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Smith's first major project since the infamous Oscars slap had its first screening in Washington D.C. on Saturday (October 1st). At the screening, Smith said, "Throughout my career, I've turned down many films that were set in slavery. I never wanted to show us like that. And then this picture came along. And this is not a film about slavery. This is a film about freedom. This is a film about resilience. This is a film about faith." Emancipation is based on a true story that follows Peter (Smith) as he runs away from a Louisiana plantation in search of his family.

BRUCE WILLIS DENIES SELLING RIGHTS TO HIS FACE TO AI COMPANY: Despite last week's reports stating that Bruce Willis sold the rights to his face to a deepfake company called Deepcake, a spokesperson for Willis told the BBC that he had "no partnership or agreement" with the company. Deepcake confirmed this with the outlet, as a representative for the company said, "The wording about rights is wrong… Bruce couldn't sell anyone any rights, they are his by default."

BuzzFeed reported Thursday (September 29th) that the reality star accepted the NBA player's proposal in February 2021 and they were still together when news of his paternity scandal broke in December of that year.

Sources close to the situation told the outlet that he first popped the question in December 2019, only to be turned down.

Trevor Noah Is Leaving The Daily Show To Focus On Standup

Trevor Noah is stepping down from The Daily Show after seven years.

The comedian revealed his plan to return to leave the show and return to standup on Thursday (September 29th) evening's taping of the program in New York.

In a "special message" posted online by The Daily Show, Noah explained, "After seven years I feel like it's time, you know. I spent two years in my apartment, not on the road. You know, standup was done. And when I got back out there again I realized there was another part of my life I want to carry on exploring."

He added that this isn't an "instant" goodbye and said, "We'll fill out the timings and the whens. We'll still be here for the time being."

Noah took over hosting duties at The Daily Show in 2015, following Jon Stewart's 16-and-a-half years behind the desk.

Bruce Willis Sold His Image Rights Prior To Aphasia Diagnosis

Bruce Willis may have retired from Hollywood due to his aphasia diagnosis, but that doesn't mean he won't be seen on the big screen.

According to the Daily Mail, the 67-year-old actor sold his image rights to Deepcake, an artificial intelligence powered content optimization platform. Engineers at the Delaware-based copy created a "digital twin" of the Die Hard actor, which will make it possible to insert him into film projects.

The image was created using his likeness in Die Hard and The Fifth Element, and his estate will have final say on its use.

Willis' deepfake has already appeared in an August 2021 commercial for MegaFon, a Russian telecommunications company.

Willis said in a testimony on Deepcake's website after the ad ran,"With the advent of the modern technology, I could communicate, work and participate in filming, even being on another continent. It's a brand new and interesting experience for me, and I am grateful to our team."

Anthony Bourdain's Last Text With Asia Argento Revealed

A new book about the late Anthony Bourdain reveals his final texts with girlfriend Asia Argento.

The forthcoming biography, Down and Out in Paradise by Charles Leershen, outlines their troubled relationship.

In an excerpt from People, it shows that the troubled travel host sent the message, "You were reckless with my heart," after she was spotted by paparazzi with French journalist Hugo Clement.

Argento had previously told the outlet that the pair "cheated" on each other and, "it wasn't a problem for us."

Bourdain died by suicide in June 2018 at the age of 61.

Katie Couric Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Katie Couric announced Wednesday (September 28th) that she has ben undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

The 65-year-old former Today show anchor shared on her personal website that she was diagnosed on June 21st and underwent surgery on July 14th and began radiation in September.

She wrote, "Please get your annual mammogram. I was six months late this time. I shudder to think what might have happened if I had put it off longer. But just as importantly, please find out if you need additional screening."

Shaq Admits He Was A Serial Cheater

Shaquille O'Neal admits that he was a "serial cheater."

The former NBA star refused to comment on Celtic's head coach Ime Udoka's "intimate" relationship with a female staffer on his podcast, "The Big Podcast with Shaq" because of his past.

He said, "I was a serial cheater. It would be crazy and blasphemous for me to get up here and say, ‘boom boom bam.' I can't do that."

Constance Wu Shares That She Was Raped

On Monday (September 26th), Vanity Fair published an exclusive excerpt from Constance Wu's forthcoming book titled Making a Scene, in which Wu opens up about being raped by an "aspiring novelist" named Ty early in her career.

The Hustlers actress said the assault happened on their second date. When Ty invited her up to his apartment, she wrote, "I felt a twinge of warning in my gut, but I ignored it — he didn't look threatening or shady in any way, and if you had been there, you would have agreed." As the pair became intimate later that night, Wu told him she wasn't ready to have sex with him yet. Even as she repeated this, Ty didn't listen.

"He smiled at me again like I was a baby kitten, held me close, kissed me, gently moved my legs apart, and then he . . . did it anyway," she wrote.

After that night, Wu said she buried what happened and tried to move on with her life. But it all came back one day after she'd finished filming Crazy Rich Asians.

"I'd just woken up from a nap when the realization hit me like a flood. Ty raped me. He raped me, and I hadn't done anything about it."

Earlier this month, Wu also revealed that she had experienced "sexual harassment and intimidation" from one of the producers on the set of Fresh Off the Boat. "My publisher really encouraged me to write about it ... I was like, 'No I'm done with that chapter in my life,' " she said recently. "And then I eventually realized it was important to talk about because I did have a pretty traumatic experience my first couple years on that show, and nobody knew about it because that show was historic for Asian Americans."

Caleb McLaughlin Opens Up About Experiencing Racism From 'Stranger Things' Fans

At the Heroes Comic Con Belgium convention on Sunday (September 25th), Caleb McLaughlin shared that he started to wonder at age 14 why Stranger Things fans didn't like him as much as the rest of the cast.

"Why am I the least favorite? The least amount of followers? I'm on the same show as everybody from Season 1," he wondered when he was younger.

"My very first Comic-Con, some people didn't stand in my line because I was Black. Some people told me, ‘Oh I didn't want to be in your line because you were mean to Eleven Millie Bobby Brown,'" he said.

McLaughlin continued, "Even now some people don't follow me or don't support me because I'm Black. Sometimes overseas you feel the racism, you feel the bigotry. Sometimes it's hard to talk about and for people to understand, but when I was younger it definitely affected me a lot."

The Concrete Cowboy actor added, "My parents had to be like, ‘It's a sad truth, but it's because you're the Black child on the show' … Because I was born with this beautiful chocolate skin, I'm not loved. But that's why with my platform I want to spread positivity and love because I do not give hate back to people who give hate to me."

Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her 50th birthday on Tuesday (September 27th) by sharing photos from a photoshoot in which her nude body was painted gold.

In a press release, the Shakespeare in Love actress said, "I feel so good turning 50, and this is about expressing that sense of energy and optimism that I'm experiencing. It's more about the female gaze and just a sense of fun."

Hayden Panettiere Says Giving Up Custody Of Her Daughter Was 'The Most Heartbreaking Thing'

On this week's episode of Red Table Talk, Hayden Panettiere opened up about relinquishing custody of her seven-year-old daughter Kaya to her ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko. In 2018, as the Heroes actress was battling an addiction to alcohol and pills, Kaya went to live with her father in Ukraine.

In a clip released on Tuesday (September 27th), Panettiere said signing the custody papers was "most heartbreaking thing I've ever had to do in my life."

She explained, "At first it was not because it wasn't a discussion. If Klitschko had come to me and said I think because of where you're at right now and your struggles that you're having it would be good for her to be over here with me for a while — which if I had probably had enough of a conversation I would've said okay that makes sense, I get it, I'll come there to visit and stuff like that."

She continued, "Because of the way that it was done, it was very upsetting. I mean, it was the worst signing those papers, the most heartbreaking thing I've ever, ever had to do in my life." She went on to say that the "papers were to give Klitschko full custody."

Panettiere added, "I was gonna go work on myself, I was gonna get better, and when I got better then things would change and she could come to me and I could have my time with her but that didn't happen."

The New Mexico state district attorney said up to four people could be charged for the fatal Rust shooting that took place on October 21st, 2021, resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies also specified that this could include Alec Baldwin.

"We are within weeks, if not days, of receiving the final report from the sheriff's office," she said during a Board of Finance meeting last week. "It's become apparent that we will be potentially charging between one and four people with criminal charges and each of those charges will probably include some variation of our homicide statute."

The DA added that, "One of the possible defendants is well known movie actor Alec Baldwin."

According to Deadline, Baldwin's attorney Luke Nikas of Quinn Emanuel responded to the news, saying that the media is "drawing false conclusions." He added, "The DA has made clear that she has not received the sheriff's report or made any decisions about who, if anyone, might be charged in this case."

Meryl Streep honored her longtime friend Robert De Niro at a gala in Austin for the Harry Ransom Center Saturday (September 24th). The Devil Wears Prada actress referred to De Niro as her "beacon for 50 years."

In her speech, Streep shared how much she looks up to the Goodfellas actor. "Over the years, people have always said to me, ‘What actress do you most admire? What actress' career would you like to emulate?'" she said, naming Geraldine Page, Colleen Dewhurst, and Vanessa Redgrave among others.
