Flashback: Paul McCartney & Wings' Original Lineup Plays Final Gig

It was 49 years ago Sunday night (July 10th, 1973) that the original lineup of Paul McCartney's solo band Wings played their 58th and final show in Newcastle, England. The show was recorded by McCartney and briefly considered to be released as Wings' first live album and followup to their recent chart-topper, Red Rose Speedway. An acetate of the show at Newcastle City Hall was pressed by Apple Records and has since made the rounds on the bootleg and collectors circles.

The concert, which featured McCartney on bass and keyboards, also included wife Linda on keyboards, Denny Laine on rhythm guitar, bass and keyboards -- and the soon departed Denny Seiwell on drums and Henry McCullough on lead guitar. McCullough joined Wings just prior to their first shows in January 1972, not long after Wings' 1971 debut album, Wild Life. Both McCullough and Seiwell would regroup with Wings on McCartney's Scottish farm later in July 1973 to rehearse the material for the Band On The Run album, but both left abruptly before sessions began in Lagos, Nigeria.

Shortly before his death in 2016 at age 72, Henry McCullough told us that adding in the fact that he was treated at times as nothing more than a session player for McCartney, the deal was bound to go sour as quickly as it did: "I went into the band not to be a sideman. Once the whole thing. . . We grasped what we were headin' for, it was heads down and everyone worked towards that particular goal -- and it wasn't for very long. But there was sort of revolution in the air. And Denny Seiwell was startin' to feel it a little bit. And all we wanted was to be paid for what we were doin'. I didn't want to be on a weekly wage."

Wings' original drummer Denny Seiwell, who co-founded the band with Paul and Linda McCartney, recalls the early days of Wings as an incredible time: "We were family. Y'know we'd hang together, travel together, the only thing that was different was he was the boss. Well, he was paying us. We were all on a small retainer fee. He was trying to set up a business in London. Sometimes the checks didn't come, but we were a family -- but he was the dad."

Seiwell, who began playing with McCartney in late 1970 during the Ram sessions, was actually the first member McCartney lined up for Wings. Seiwell admitted that the bottom line was that money was so scarce, he couldn't afford to stay with band: "I was waiting for some stuff to come along so we'd have some more binding legal agreements before entering into. . . I knew this record was gonna be a big one, and when none of that stuff was being taken care of, I just thought it was time to move on."

Wings co-founder Denny Laine told us that he had no idea that the pair had quit until he didn't see them on the plane to Africa: "I didn't find out until they didn't turn up, because nobody told me what was going on. I just got the vibe. I knew that Denny was missing America, for example. I knew that he didn't like to travel. Y'know, he was basically a session man who got talked into going on the road."

Paul McCartney recalled the circumstances leading up to Wings' departure to Lagos to record the album: "I was looking around for somewhere exciting to record the next album. So what I did, I thought, a good idea would be to get a list off EMI -- our record company -- of all the studios they had 'round the world. It turned out they had one in Africa. We just said, 'Yeah. Let's go to Africa.' The night before we were due to go Denny and Henry rang up and said, 'Um, we're not coming. We're not coming to Africa. We don't wanna come. We're leaving the band.' Oh, great, thank you! At first it was like, 'Oh no, tragedy!' But then, I just thought, 'Right, we're gonna go and we're gonna show you -- we're gonna make the best album we've ever made!"

McCartney mended fences with Denny Seiwell and Henry McCullough over the years, with Seiwell supplying rare and invaluable footage to McCartney for his Wingspan documentary and ongoing "Archive Series."

Prior to his 2009 Dublin show, McCartney and McCullough sat down for the first time since McCullough's departure. That night McCartney name-checked him from the stage prior to "My Love" -- which featured McCullough's signature solo.

Recently released as part of the sprawling Paul McCartney And Wings - 1971-73 Limited Edition Box Set, which features both the new Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway "Archival Series" collections combined, Wings Over Europe spotlights the earliest live incarnation of Wings. All but one of the disc's 20 songs is from the band's summer '72 European trek, with the album's opening number "Big Barn Bed" coming from the July 10th, 1973 final gig in Newcastle, England.

Carlos Santana On The Mend After Heat Exhaustion Collapse

Fans can breathe a sigh of relief -- it turns out Carlos Santana's collapse on stage on July 5th was due to heat exhaustion and dehydration. Santana stunned the crowd after fainting while performing in Independence Township, Michigan at the famed Pine Knob Music Theatre. Last night's show (July 6th) in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania at The Pavilion at Star Lake was postponed and will be rescheduled for August 4th.

Santana's wife and drummer Cindy Blackman Santana to posted a Facebook message to fans from the couple writing: "Hi Everyone! Carlos & I thank you so much for your prayers, love, care & concern for him! Please know that he's resting and doing very well! He was diagnosed with heat exhaustion & dehydration. . . it was 100 degrees on stage and 114 under the lights so that coupled with not enough water is what caused the issue. He'll be as good as new soon! Thank you again and we love you! Cindy & Carlos."

We recently caught up with Carlos Santana and he stressed the ongoing importance in getting positive messages out to young people as early as possible: "I think the best thing to change the world is just change kids' perception because it's too late for the tyrants. Beyonce Is Vetting Artists & Producers For 'Me Too' Allegations

Reports say that Beyonce has been vetting artists and producers who work on her album for any "Me Too" allegations. Back in 2020, producer Detail, who worked on Beyonce's 2013 hit "Drunk In Love," was arrested on 15 counts of sexual assault. According to The Sun, a source said Beyoncé was "devastated" by the allegations. As a result, she makes sure nobody in her camp is potentially problematic.

A source told the UK Sun, "She stopped working with him and her team now run #MeToo checks on any potential collaborators. Two songs from high-profile artists have been rejected because of allegations they are facing. Although neither has been found guilty, she's sending a clear message to the industry in the wake of troubling cases from people like R. Kelly and Harvey Weinstein."

While some may think this is extreme, the source added Beyoncé doesn't want any kind of abuse or harassment to be "normalized" and simply "doesn't care" about what anyone thinks.

Detail was charged with raping five women and sexually assaulting a sixth between 2010 and 2018. The musician, born Noel Fisher, has denied all allegations and is currently being held on $6.9 million bail.

Gene Simmons Regrets Original Kiss Members Can't Come To Terms With The Band

As Kiss carries on with its ongoing farewell tour, Gene Simmons maintains that Ace Frehley and Peter Criss' absence is of their own doing. During a chat with Chaoszine, Simmons was pressed about the band's two co-founders staying away from the reunion trek in any capacity: "We've tried. I keep trying. Paul (Stanley) and I met with Ace. Tried to convince him to come back. He said, 'I want this, I want that, I want that.' (We said) 'Well, we can't do that.' I asked Ace and Peter to be in the (Kisstory) documentary. They said no. They might do it if they have complete control of the edit. Well, I said, 'You can't do that because even we don't have that. But I won't control what you say. You can say whatever you want.' The answer is no, both of them. I asked Ace and Peter, 'Come out on tour. We'll get you your own room and everything. Come out on the encores.' Ace said, 'No. The only way I'd come out is if I'm the Spaceman and you ask Tommy (Thayer) to leave.' I go, 'Well, that's not going to happen.' First of all, I care about Ace, but he's not in shape. He can't play that way and doesn't have the physical stamina to do that."

Simmons went on to explain how he feels about Frehley and Criss -- but couldn't help but remain logical in not wanting history to repeat itself: "Look, we care about them. We started this thing together, and they were equally important to the beginning of the band with Paul and I. No question. But as time went on, not everybody is designed to run a marathon. Some people are designed to be in a band for a year or two, a few years, and then that's all they can do. And both of them have been in the band three different times. How many chances in life do you get?. . . The answer is, the door is always open."

He added: "If they want to jump on stage at any time and do the encores with us, terrific. But no, we're not going to get rid of Tommy or Eric. In fact, Tommy and Eric (Singer) are the best things that happened to us. They gave us new life, new appreciation for what we do because they were fans first. And every once in a while, Eric or Tommy will turn around and say, 'Wow, isn't this great?' And it makes us realize, 'Yeah. Wow, isn't this great?'"

Simmons also intimated that personal issues aren't the only ones keeping his former-bandmates from joining up: "When I called to invite Peter to be in the documentary, his health isn't what it should be. I don't want to get too specific because it's part of his private life. But no, physically, he wouldn't be able to do it. Neither would Ace."

Last year, while chatting on SiriusXM's Jim & Sam Show, Paul Stanley laid out why the third time with Frehley and Criss would absolutely not prove to be "the charm": "You may want mom and dad to be back together -- but it didn't work out. We had amazing moments and amazing times, and we did some phenomenal things together, which tie me to them forever. But that's not the fairytale; it doesn't end there. It's great to look back on, but you go back and it's not the same anymore. And you quickly realize -- as we did -- why it didn't work out the first time. That's why it didn't work out the second time."

Kiss performs tonight (July 7th) Zurich, Switzerland in Hallendstadium.

Their next U.S. show is set for September 21st at West Palm Beach's IThink Financial Amphitheatre.

Queen's Brian May Doesn't Think John Deacon Will Ever Perform Again

Queen's Brian May says that fans shouldn't hold out hope that bassist John Deacon will ever perform or record with the band again. Deacon, who's now 70, remains a virtual recluse. Deacon -- a father of six, who's been married for 47 years -- is said to be worth over $130 million, and was responsible for writing such classics for the band as "You're My Best Friend," "I Want To Break Free," and the chart-topping "Another One Bites the Dust" -- not to mention the legendary bass line to "Under Pressure."

He remains a full quarter partner in the band, yet retired in 1997 after recording "No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young)," which was featured on the group's compilation album, Queen Rocks. Deacon last played with Roger Taylor and Brian May during the band's 1992 tribute to Freddie Mercury.

The London Express transcribed Brian May's chat with Rock FM Spain, in which he was asked if John Deacon will ever rejoin him and co-founder Roger Taylor: "I think not. Of course, we love John and we will always will, but we don't have any significant contact with him now. That's the way he wants it. He wanted to cut that tie and to be a private person and we have to respect that. I don't think that it would be easy for John to slip back into the arena that we inhabit. In fact, a couple of times we have asked him, but he always says 'No, that's not what I do now.' And we have to respect that John doesn't want to do it."

He went on to say, "I think it would be difficult for him anyway because things have changed a lot, and Roger and I have adapted a certain amount. We're still very old school but we're aware of different ways of behaving these days and different ways in which our art is channeled. . . I don't think that is going to happen sadly. I'd love to say yes but I don't think it would. It's possible that we could meet in some low-stress situation, I think, but in public, probably not."

We asked Roger Taylor if he feels John Deacon will ever perform as part of Queen again: "John really has opted out of the whole music business thing. He was done, like, being around people. He wrote us a letter saying 'I totally approve of everything you do and, um, can I have my share?' I mean, he's still a partner, so, y'know, he's there in that sense."

Sammy Hagar Confirms He's Earned More Money Away From Rock

Sammy Hagar confirmed to TMZ that he's earned more money from his non-musical endeavors than he has from rock. Blabbermouth transcribed some of the "Red Rocker's" chat in which he clarified his fortunes were mainly earned away from the stage: "It's true. Yes. It's absolutely true. It's what's made it so great for me. I'm telling you, guys -- I swear by this -- if you get lucky enough to get successful outside of music, it makes it so much better in your elder years. Like now, I'm in my 70's and I'm still going and playing music. And you know why? Because I don't have to do it for a living; I don't have to make it my business. So I can pay my band more than they can make (playing with anyone else). They're happy, and so they're happy to play with me. We all walk out on stage and we're happy to do it 'cause we don't have to do it.

Hagar, who sold his full stake in his Cabo Wabo tequila back in 2010 for around $85 million -- and is still very involved with his ongoing brands of rum and tequila, went on to say, "A lot of people are doing (music) for money, and they go out and they punch a clock. So we do it for fun. It's almost like we're in a garage band again because I make my living another way and music is something I just love to do. But if someone said, 'Hey, you're gonna play 150 shows this year,' I'd tell 'em, 'I quit.' Because I know I would get pissed off and I'd be saying, 'Oh, I've gotta do a show tonight, man. There's a great boxing match on.' Or, 'I wanna take my wife out and go and have a nice dinner.'"

Back in the day, Sammy Hagar told us how proud he was of the success his tequila attained in a relatively short time: "That tequila thing was such a. . . It wasn't a gamble. I don't even have the right words. It was such a, a little, small-time little thing that I did -- like a little hobby for fun that exploded -- and I just had to grab on to it and I've just been on this ride. Y'know, it's like jumping on the back of a rocket ship, y'know, and holding on for dear life."

Sammy Hagar & The Circle perform on Friday (July 8th) in Prior Lake, Minnesota at Lakefront Music Fest.

65 Years Ago Today: John Lennon & Paul McCartney Meet

It was 65 years ago today (July 6th, 1957), in Liverpool, England, that the most successful and beloved songwriting team of all time -- John Lennon and Paul McCartney -- first met, kick starting the Beatles' career. McCartney was brought to the St. Peter's Church Garden Fete in the Liverpool suburb of Woolton by his and Lennon's mutual friend Ivan Vaughan, to watch Lennon's group the Quarrymen perform. Vaughan recalled to Lennon biographer Ray Coleman that he told McCartney: "You've got to come and meet this guy John Lennon. You'll get on well with him." In recent years, McCartney has revealed that he had seen the older Lennon around Liverpool more than once and took notice of his hardened "Teddy Boy" dress and demeanor.

Vaughan said that the 15-year-old McCartney was more interested in checking out the girls attending the Church social than the musical acts. At the moment that McCartney first laid eyes on the 16-year-old Lennon on stage, he was performing the Del Vikings' hit "Come Go With Me" -- with almost completely improvised lyrics. After the Quarrymen's set, the left-handed McCartney impressed Lennon and the rest of the group by turning over one of the group's right-handed acoustic guitars and belting out a few Little Richard numbers and Eddie Cochran's "Twenty Flight Rock." Lennon was immediately impressed at the number of chords McCartney knew, as well as his ability to remember the correct lyrics to the songs.

In 1964, McCartney jokingly described the historic meeting in the forward to Lennon's first book, In His Own Write, recalling that, "At Woolton village fete I met him. I was a fat schoolboy and as he leaned his arm over my shoulder, I realized that he was drunk."

In 1967, Lennon recalled his first impressions of McCartney, remembering that, "I was very impressed. . . He could obviously play guitar, I half thought to myself, 'He's as good as me'. . . He also looked like Elvis (Presley). I dug him."

After the Beatles' breakup, John Lennon set the scene for the legendary and historic first meeting: "Paul met me the first day I did 'Be-Bop-A-Lula' live on stage, okay? A mutual friend brought him to see my group, called the Quarrymen. And we met and we talked after the show and I saw he had talent and he was playing the guitars backstage and doing 'Twenty Flight Rock' by Eddie Cochran. And I turned around to him right then on first meeting and sat, 'Do you want to join the group? And he said, (imitates mumbling indecision). And I think he said 'yes' the next day" as I recall it."

Throughout the years McCartney has always maintained that the meeting was one of the most amazing twists of divine intervention: "I kind of just count my blessings, y'know? I feel very lucky -- and there is so much fate involved. Y'know, my friend Ivan Vaughn taking me to Woolton village fete, me seeing John there, me going backstage -- talking to him, me happening to know the words to 'Twenty Flight Rock,' him happening to be impressed. Don't ask me about conclusions about life -- never mind the Beatles' career -- or that aspect of it."

Shortly before her 2015 death, Lennon's first wife, Cynthia Lennon, said that watching Lennon and McCartney collaborate in the early days was always an incredible experience: "They were absolutely wrapped up in their music. And their friendship was so -- you could taste it almost -- the essence of what they were doing was so tight-knit. And the balance of John and Paul's lyrics and way of thinking and way of creating the music -- well it was fascinating, the whole thing."

In 1970, John Lennon told Rolling Stone that he was faced with a dilemma in forging a partnership with Paul McCartney, recalling, "Was it better to have a guy who was better than the people that I had in? To make the group stronger? Instead of going for an individual thing we went for the strongest format -- equals."

A recording from that evening's performance, containing several songs including "Puttin' On The Style," was purchased by Lennon's widow Yoko Ono in the mid-'90s. A low-fi snippet of the tune, which has made the collectors rounds over the years, shows that Lennon's distinctly nasal rasp was already in full effect by the summer of 1957.

Although Lennon often stated that he asked McCartney to join the band that night, McCartney has long stuck by the story that a week or so passed before Lennon had his then-best friend and Quarrymen bandmate Pete Shotton ask McCartney to join. McCartney said that he needed to ask his father's permission, and that wouldn't actually be able to officially join until he returned from Boy Scout camp later that summer.

McCartney made his official live debut with Lennon and the Quarrymen on October 18th, 1957 at Liverpool's Conservative Club's New Clubmoor Hall -- by which time he and Lennon had begun their first songwriting collaborations.

George Harrison met Lennon in November 1957 through his friendship with McCartney, and eventually joined the Quarrymen in March 1958. Harrison felt that Lennon's tumultuous childhood not only shaped Lennon's life -- but the Beatles' entire career: "John was, like, very tough. I mean, he had that ability to be gentle and soft and was lovely, but, y'know, he was acid, too. He gave that hard edge to the Beatles. He was an orphan, y'know? Well, he. . . his father left home and you've heard the songs, (sings) ‘Mother, you left me, but I didn't leave you.'"

Paul McCartney recalled that coming from the same place and living through similar circumstances only enhanced his closeness with John Lennon: "I think that we'd grown up as kids from Liverpool, so we read each other, we knew each other's history. The other very important thing is, both our mother's had died when we were teen age, so we had a bond there that we never talked about -- but each of us knew that that had happened to the other person. So, if you wanted to, you could talk about it. We hardly ever did. So, these kind of things, I think, gave us a strength."

Ivan Vaughan, who stayed friends with both Lennon and McCartney over the course of their lives, went on to study the classics at University College, London. His wife transcribed McCartney's English lyrics to French for the Beatles' 1965 classic "Michelle." In 1968 he briefly worked for the Beatles' Apple Corps. helping out with the short-lived and ill-fated planning of an "Apple School." In 1977, Vaughan was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and in 1986 published a book, Ivan: Living With Parkinson's Disease.

Vaughan's eventual death in 1994 due to complications from the disease inspired McCartney to begin writing his first book of poetry, 2001's Blackbird Singing, which included a poem titled "Ivan."

Carlos Santana Collapses On Stage

Carlos Santana collapsed onstage last night (July 5th) while performing in Independence Township, Michigan at the famed Pine Knob Music Theatre.

Ultimate Classic Rock reported: "The rocker was approximately 55 minutes into the show when he began to introduce 'Joy,' a collaboration with Chris Stapleton that was released on 2021's Blessings And Miracles. After describing the song as 'mystical medicine music to heal a world infected with fear,' Santana and his namesake band launched into the tune. The guitarist then walked over to a riser, sat down and appeared to pass out. The show was immediately stopped as he was attended to by medical staff. At one point, a curtain was placed onstage to hide the guitarist from the crowd's view."

A crew member explained to the crowd that the guitarist was dealing with a "severe medical emergency," before asking the crowd for their prayers and well wishes. 20 minutes after the collapse, Santana was seen being wheeled off the stage in a stretcher.

Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young Back On Spotify

Five months after pulling their music off Spotify, Crosby, Stills, & Nash have returned to the streaming service, according to Billboard. The group -- including Neil Young -- requested their labels officially remove their music back in February in protest of popular podcaster Joe Rogan, who slammed Covid protocols, mask mandates, and the effectiveness of vaccine and booster shots.

At the time, CSN issued a statement saying, "We support Neil and we agree with him that there is dangerous disinformation being aired on Spotify's Joe Rogan podcast. While we always value alternate points of view, knowingly spreading disinformation during this global pandemic has deadly consequences. Until real action is taken to show that a concern for humanity must be balanced with commerce, we don't want our music -- or the music we made together -- to be on the same platform."

As it stands now, CSN plan to donate proceeds from their streams to Covid-19 charities for at least a month. Although Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young material is back on the service -- no Neil Young-written tracks are available to stream, either as part of the group nor on his own.

Graham Nash, like his bandmates, has never been happy with the lack of compensation they've received from digital sales. He told us that musicians predicted the digital revolution long before their record companies recognized it, by which time it was too late. Nash told us that it serves the record companies right for being so slow in understanding and embracing the new technology: "We tried to tell the record companies that this digital revolution was coming and they took no notice of anybody, and so got stuck behind the 8-ball. And record companies, like, the big, y'know, CBS and Warner Brothers and all. . . don't exist anymore. They don't want physical product. They want it all to be a digital download."

Graham Nash kicks off his next string of dates on July 13th at Red Bank, New Jersey's Count Basie Center for the Arts.

Noah Cyrus Opens Up About Xanax Addiction

Noah Cyrus recently revealed to Rolling Stone that she channeled the ups and downs of her past addiction to Xanax for her upcoming LP, The Hardest Part.

The singer explained that she struggled with the pressures of being part of a public family which includes older sister Miley Cyrus and father Billy Ray Cyrus. She recalled trying downers at the age of 18, amid her battles with body dysmorphia and depression.

Noah told the outlet, "My boyfriend at the time was the first person that gave me a Xanax, and it became a way for us to bond. I think I wanted to fit in with him. I wanted to be what he wanted and what he thought was cool and what I thought everybody was doing."

She added, "Once I felt that it was possible to silence things out for a second and numb your pain, it was over."

The singer admitted she would sleep all day and wake up sometimes as late as 8 p.m., and revealed, "It just kind of becomes this dark pit, bottomless pit."

Things got scary for Noah when she nodded off mid-conversation during an international television interview at the height of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. She says she reached out for help shortly after and began "slowly wading back into the creative process," which includes her album, slated for a July 15th release.

Thanks to hours of therapy and psychiatry, she says things are improving and tells the outlet, "I wake up in the mornings, and I'm able to look in a mirror and go on about my day without hating myself. I'm able to comfort myself and nurture myself."

Authorized Charlie Watts Biography Announced

Coming just over a year after his death will be the first authorized biography on the Rolling Stones' late-drummer Charlie Watts. Watts, the Stones' musical bedrock, died of cancer last August 24th at the age of 80. The band has carried on with longtime Keith Richards' solo partner Steve Jordan manning the drum stool.

The new book, titled Charlie's Good Tonight: The Life, The Times, And Rolling Stones: The Authorized Biography Of Charlie Watts, was written by Paul Sexton and will be published in England on September 15th with a U.S. on sale date set for October 11th.

According to Best Classic Bands, "The biography includes forewords by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and interviews with the two, as well as Ronnie Wood, Bill Wyman, and many of Watts' family members, among others."

For Charlie Watts -- who was by far the most private of the Rolling Stones -- and the only member to have celebrated over 50 years of marriage -- being known as one of rock's most influential drummers is more than enough for him: "Obviously, it's very flattering, it's like saying, 'the greatest rocker' -- whatever you're called -- it's better than being called the worst, isn't it? I mean, I appreciate the difference in words there. It's nicer to be called the greatest than the worst, but, y'know, I do get embarrassed. But I'm like that, y'know?"

The Stones next perform on July 11th in Brussels, Belgium at King Baudouin Stadium.

Bruce Springsteen Taps A Pair Of 2012 Paris Shows For Archival Release

Just released is Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band's July 4th and 5th, 2012 concerts at Paris, France's Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy. The double-shot release is from the 2012/2013 "Wrecking Ball" tour, which was the band's first following the 2011 death of Clarence Clemons. In addition to "The Boss" and the band, the touring ensemble featured a five-man horn section, a percussionist, and three additional vocalists.

Back in 2012, when the band began rehearsals following the death of Clarence Clemons, it was guitarist Steve Van Zandt who passed the idea to Bruce Springsteen that going out on the road with a horn section might ease fans into dealing with the loss of the "Big Man": "It took us a while to actually come to the conclusion that the horn section would work. And then, how do we adapt the show according to the horns -- y'know, would the horns be useful enough to justify taking them out on a whole tour? Y'know, that's a big decision. Uh, y'gonna be doing whatever the number is, 24, 26 songs a night, how many of those, y'know, will the horns be used in?"

At the time, guitarist Nils Lofgren told us that despite the loss of Clarence Clemons, the horn parts were alive and well on E Street and the band was thriving from performing with the new players: "We did a big tour (for) Tunnel Of Love, 'had a great horn section we used a lot. So, it hearkens back to those days. It's a really powerful tool and, y'know, between Bruce, of course, who's a master bandleader and Steve (Van Zandt), who always did a lot of work with horns and helped arrange them, and of course, five great horn players, they're puttin' together parts. . . and they'll evolve as always. Everybody's parts evolve through the tour. That's the beautiful thing about this band."

Machine Gun Kelly Nearly Dropped By Prop Helicopter

Machine Gun Kelly was nearly dropped onto the stage by a prop helicopter at his Detroit stop Sunday (July 3rd).

According to Loudwire, the fake chopper appeared to hit a bump on its predetermined track, shaking the rocker as he performed high above the crowd.

Once onstage, MGK told the audience at Little Caesars Arena that the "helicopter broke right here in Detroit," and added, "Thank you, Lord, for keeping me alive."
